Pakistan Army says it has nothing to do with with the banners carrying pictures of Army Chief General Raheel Sharif displayed in various cities.

This was stated in a tweet by ISPR Director General Lt. General Asim Saleem Bajwa.

Raheel Sharif is a well respected figure but he shouldn't get any funny ideas.

If he wants to be in the driving seat, he could easily with his popularity run for an elected position and succeed.

Trust me. Pakistanis wholeheartedly support the Pakistani army taking charge. This is the result of the government's mass failure. Nawaz Sharif is hugely responsible for the current sentiment.

You have no idea. I'm not a supporter of dictatorial rule, but facts are facts. Under military rule Pakistan has always fared much better as opposed to civilian rule. If anything, Pak army is very popular when ruling the roost.

Of course, the Pak army isn't going to enter politics because that is not their domain.

@Moonlight - that is the whole point! nobody is supposed to think that the coas is the leader of the country. they should server at the will and pleasure of the elected government. Your military otoh has so completely destroyed you that the whole of Pakistan is exploited to serve and pleasure the military!

nothing to be dared. Pakistan simply is not worth crushing because there is nothing to be gained. even the territory captured by beating the hell out of your military was returned as a goodwill gesture. Look up history. Your military has never won anything though they keep trying to show they are capable. Pakistanis ofcourse have no choice but the accept because there is nothing else left in the country.

Probably I have read a different history of subcontinent. From what I know, Ayub-Yahya left your country truncated by half, Zia's policy till date is haunting Pakistan and Musharraf allowed Taliban in frontier, enabled MQM- Lyari Aman committee and Taliban in Karachi.

Anyway, its for Pakistanis to decide.
