Myanmar has mobilised troops near its border with Bangladesh, which prompted the foreign ministry to summon its envoy in Dhaka.

Suspicious movement of Myanmar troops aboard trawlers along the international border was observed since Sunday morning, according to media reports.

Dhaka summoned the Myanmar ambassador to Bangladesh and handed over a letter of protest against such activities along the border.

“We have expressed our concerns [to the ambassador] over movement of troops near the border,” Delwar Hossain, director general of the Myanmar Wing at the foreign ministry, told Bangla Tribune on Sunday.

Dhaka also asked the Myanmar authorities to stop any provocative activities and called for talks to resolve any issues between the two countries, according to Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

Myanmar deployed military troops along its border after it launched a crackdown on Rohingya Muslims in the state northwest Rakhine State in 2017, forcing over 730,000 people flee to Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is now home to more than one million Myanmar nationals, who lives in timid and squalid camps in the southeastern district of Cox’s Bazar.

fu*king retards ....not the monkeys but rather BAL castrated fools...
What would be the reason behind these movements ? It’s not like they are encroaching on our land

I doubt Myanmar would do anything too stupid especially now , if they were to attempt to be aggressive against Bangladesh things can only turn out badly for them

MM wants Saint Martin back to its real mother from the step mother Bangladesh. Hasina will not ask the military to act similarly because she fears the military will get the upper hand instead of her non-elected civilian govt. She wants no popularity rival.

Doesn't BD have significant military presence on Saint Martin ? If Myanmar wants to take it there will be nothing short of war

How far the Bangladeshis have fallen under Indian servitude that even the Burmese bully them.

What is the bigger threat to Bangladesh India or Myanmar?
Apples and oranges comparison.

Bangladesh's main beef with India is water sharing. The rest of the problems (Bangladeshis getting shot while tresspassing, trade imbalance, etc..) are self-inflicted.

Myanmar on the other hand pushes Rohigyas in.
The other problems are sort of self-inflicted (smuggling in of illicit substances, etc..).

Why do we care if they are within their territory?

We have resources in place to react if there is any transgression.

AFAIK, Burma and BD have no legal obligations to demilitarise the BD-Burma border.

We should keep our side of the border sealed as much as possible at all times regardless of what Burma does.

hmm JF-17 vs mig-29s will be interesting ....

Guys there is one of Bangladesh' newest cantonments established in CXB area, and moreover MiG 29's are stationed at CXB already or will soon be.

Add to that the Navy has intensified patrols in the area already, if this is being publicized now.

Let the monkeys try something funny, proper reply will be given.

Maybe the Sanghis are goading on the Monkeys, trying their dirty geopolitics game and stirring up trouble.

Time for us to find Anup Chetia again.....
Part of me actually wants them to try something.

So far we have not had strong grounds to respond militarily. The West will undoubtedly back and get closer to BD if there is any instigation from Burma.
The govt will also gain public support towards military spending.

Burma is provoking Bangladesh into a war for the simple reason of diverting the attention of international community from Rohingya issue. Bangladesh should mobilize troops near Burmese border to give a message to Tatmadaw that Bangladesh army has the will and the power to crush any military misadventure by Tatmadaw.
