What's new

My views on Modi

I dont think one can expect the results from day one, But as you said One cannot wait for the end of 5 year for the results..... The reason Constitution kept 5 years for a term is to provide adequate time to run policies and get the desired results.... .But i think the results should start showing up from this year on wards......

No one would be happier if that is the case, if results are not visible PAN INDIA by mid '17 it might be too late.

.
What is the point if you are not able to provide power to those who already have electricity????

Ask that to the villagers who have seen electricity in their homes for the very first time in their life. The government is for everyone remember, not just for the privileged. As far as load shedding and power cuts are concerned, that's the state governments duty.

Actually Modi got the best opportunity especially with Fuel prices....... I thought things could have been better if it was UPA on the same scenario......(only on economic front)

Now you are deviating from the original line of your argument.
No one is denying your right to vote for people who would be best for your town/state/country. BUT that's not what we are debating.

We are debating about the power issue in your place and on the larger scale in rest of India and how Modi govt is handling it.

Not just Doval. Similar thinking was made in case of Modi as well.
Extreme RW thought he would resolve all the issues in 6 months and we would have a hindu nation by now ;)

Alas, things work a lot differently in the real world.

Non! mon ami.. My line of argument remains consistent and that is power deficit in my district. Rest is irrelevant for me as well as most Indians. In this chain of thought I rebutted your argument about the good work done by Modi in rest of the country as it's results are not tangible for me and mine,

.
Rommel was a great general who lost the war! All I and you know about Doval and Jaishankar comes from media aggrandizement and not from personal experience. There work and results would speak for them and so far there is nothing to speak of.
Hahaha, exactly! All this hype around Doval is entirely fabricated by the media/internet. I have yet to see any tangibles from his elevation to NSA, I understand much of his job is intentionally shrouded in secrecy but I still find little reason to trust he is doing a better than anyone else would in that role.

Optics to make the world feel safe so that we can continue to do business with the rest of the world without distraction.
"Optics, optics, optics". This is what too many Modi supporters seem to have become obsessed by, ever heard of the phrase "sytle over substance"?

What about the Optics of this:

And a few days later:

How do you think that looked?

India is addressing this by increasing our border security to a 5 tier system.
I gurantee it won't make a noticable difference, no amount of border security will address the problem as long as the world's largest jihadi factory sits on the Western border.

So what ? govt. can at most pay more compensation. Our foreign policies are not hostage to sentiments of all dead, it is geared towards the living.
You entirely missed the point of what I was trying to say.

I dont have to..... Because I came from a village and i did not have the luxury of electricity or telephone for a very long time.... So i know how it feels in the first place......

The point which i made is not that what you thought....

You are extrapolating what's happening in your place to all of India, which is not true. that's the whole point I am making.

Look, there is a lot that this govt needs to do. We gave then 5 years, so, lets have patience.

Strangely, if people were this demanding of previous govt, India would have been a developed nation long back.
Even more strangely Delhi people are completely happy with jumlas by kejriwal who has not started ground work to deliver even one of them...

Strange indeed...

No! On the contrary I have very clearly stated that I am not concerned with rest of India as long as I get my 24/7 bijli pani.

You did say, whats the point of bring electricity to villages, if the government can't provide electricity. Even if the government is able to provide 8-10 hours of electricity to these recently "electrified" villages, then thats already an improvement! That is the point of this whole exercise.

So according to you the development is cutting one's share and giving it to other???? The ideal way should be to provide electricity to those poor souls without cutting those who already has it......

.
@Spectre perhaps you should have given all the reasons for power cuts in Jharkhand in your first post, rather than blaming everything on Modi and BJP. The state government in Jharkhand is only a year old, you have to give them some time to sort out the mess that has been left behind by the previous governments.

.
You are confused mate.
In some posts you talk about BJP needing to do well to come to power in 2019 and in some you talk about your local issues.:D

Ekjactly!!:D They are two different topics and I do admit my mood changes with the gusts of cool wind I can feel on my face as no bijli right now.

.
My neutral view is that the uncharismatic, squeaking Manhoman was actually far better PM than Modi. It was Manmohan who laid the seeds of a developing India, first as Finance minister and then as PM. Modi is mostly riding the inertia created by Manhoman.

I think Indians mostly like Modi because he seems to be an in-your-face and hardliner sort of guy and have a nervous intensity to him, a trait that Indians may want to see in their leader. Modi, to me, is 'style over substance' who just came when the stage was already set for him.

It is not cutting anyone's share. Do you actually have any proof of increased power cuts, compared to say what it was back during UPA's regime, other than the hearsay of course.

Power production is at an all time high!
