My view on Iran

well you say so because you consider Islam an ideology but muslims themselves (I for one) do not consider it an Arabic thing

i do not consider islam an "idealogy" i was just explaining in your terms.

but nontheless, i understand your position. i believe in freedom of religion and myself would probably be bitter if i was forced or pressured into converting to another religion. changing religion is no simple task, it is like a way of life.

In Israel we have a democratically elected government by all citizens,

in Israel the nationality and citizenship are two different things. Both Jews and non Jews may have Israeli citizenship, but there is a Jewish nationality and an Arab nationality. Legal rights are set based on nationality and not citizenship. So Palestinians are treated like 3'rd class citizens in their own country.

and Israel's policy will never be to kill innocent people.

LOL

On the other hand, the current regime of Iran is not democratically elected,

I think you will find that it is......they just had elections a while back.

there is no possibility to change the current ruling Ayatollahs,

Just like its not possible to rein in the rabbis.

and they advocate murdering anyone who oppose them:

Like you guys murdered the hamas representative in dubai?

in Iran and in the region. Similar problem exist in Pakistan with its Army in control and with no moral problem to murder his opponents.

Coming from an isreali i find it a bit rich.

Hence, you should get use to Israelis condemning barbaric regimes like in Iran and in Pakistan.[/QUOTE]

Very interesting. The major problem for me against the Tehran regime and other Islamic regimes is female rights. Iran has a great and interesting history however, IMO, Iran has went down the chart since 1979 revolution. Iranian females were hot, hot, hot before 1979 and now... :argh:

This is not the issue of this thread , so I will not comment except stating that you have zero understanding about Israel and the differences between Israel and Iran.

at the end of the day this thread was based on my own experiences and opinion, so if I call Islam an Ideology then It does not mean I am saying you should too.

But if you found anything I said unlogical then feel free to challenge it.

So why should white caucasians (europeans & americans) follow christianity since jesus was a jewish semite? Why should east asians (chinese, japanese , koreans) practice Buddhism since buddha was indian? Faithful people believe in the message; the race of the messenger is irrelevant. Islam is for all times and places.Regardless of who a person may be or where he may be. Islam is universal. It has no chosen race or people, it only gives preference to people in terms of virtue and uprightness of character.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. - Prophet Muhammad's Last Sermon

imo, the thread was about iran and not islamic debate

the thread becomes ugly when people start discussing their opinion on sensitive matters, let mods close this thread and let iranians themselves solve the problem, if they have one

others should mind their own country

that should be the neutral stance, iran is not my country so its none of my problem and we have no business interfering in iranian matters and we have already too much headaches in our own countries, eg: zardari in pakistan

Greeks are Christians now but Hercules was used in their state Emblem by Christian dynasties, Japanese are Buddhist but they still retain many of their cultural heritage. So, religion should not be debated but the actual debate is should a community disown their ancestral heritage because their ancestors belonged to different religion.

Contributions of Arabs is only up to spreading Islam otherwise I see contributions of Iranians in Art, Architecture and other fields much superior to Arabs. I always find pre-Islamic heritage of Iranians one of the best in the World and they should not disown it because their ancestors were Zoroastrians.
