In 1962 China sent as many as 100,000 to 120,000 army for only 8000 to 10000 Indian army posted there, at that time we were very ill-equipped, even then we backed down temporarily once our army ran out of bullets by killing Chinese army coming in large waves, when we decided to send enforcement to kick them out of our land, Chinese voluntarily declared cease-fire and went back silently. That's the history. China was in no position to hold onto any gain, but we still consider it a defeat as we should have been prepared for Chinese treachery.
