again, there are vegetarian restaurants plenty in India, and cow slaughter is not done in public.

that is all good. if its not in your face then fine. people have the free choice to do whatever they want but they much be sensitive to the feeling of other people as well. free will and democracy means one can eat or drink whatever is lawful as long as its aim is not to offend someone and if there is any chance of a conflict then it should be done privately.

Hakim Muhammad Saeed the founder of Humdard foundation in India and Pakistan once said,

by not slaughtering cows and not eating cow meat... no Muslim will become lesser Muslim, your faith will remain intact and in addition to that you will get some health benefits too. try another meat instead not just out of respect for Hindus (you bigots) but just because its not good for health.

I personally avoided any form of meat when hosting Hindu families and guests.
it was out of respect and decency. something which is in short supply.

this Mutual respect is a must and it wont put even a scratch on our individual faiths. remember what the British Raj did to us.

Very wrong analogy Ravi. How many Muslim areas have you gone to in North India?
There are tons of areas where Muslims cut animals on the streetside in public. To ask them to not do it becomes communal.
If you tell me this is a law enforcement problem, then I will tell you to be realistic here. Asking for law to be implemented in certain areas itself gets you labeled as communal in India.

Even in this, Irfan's post implied directly - that Muslims should just out of respect of each other's sentiments willingly not consume beef. Did you think he meant that it should be prohibited?
