Money is not the problem. When they need some thing PK just does this alchemy and money come raining. It is quite amazing that they always pull this one off.

Well said. It is also rather odd that a country which needs seas for its survival and prosperity does not consider itself an island nation. Their doctrine should have been to declare themselves as an island nation and build a truly potent naval force to guarantee peace and stability in the Arabian sea...with extension of their EEZ this must be their strategic priority, even without CPEC. They have the infrastructure to build their own. Even if it is not world class. But nevertheless...

I also cannot fathom this. Surely the military know that the navy needs to be given more importance. I know the public think it is not as glamorous as the army or air force.

Someone here may be able to answer me. If money was not an issue, would it not make sense for PN to have at least one aircraft carrier? Would that not help PN in securing her part of the Arabian Sea and EEZ? Or are aircraft carriers only about projecting power thousands of miles away from home?

I agree with you that PNS is most neglected service.

Pak defence doctorine is chaning with their stated policy of Full Spectrum Deterence.

PA and PAF are covered. Only navy needs a credible force projection and deterence which is does not have. But it is in the process of developing it. At a snail pace.

IMHO you don't need an AC. More of Helicarier. The AC of your delusional eastern nemesis is a sitting duck.

Again PNS must become a force that defends the EEZ and your nation state not from coastal positions but out in the open seas. The should go for Turkish U-boats that are available.. there is some life left in them. Along with your current subs and coming Chinese subs... these U-boats will do wonders for your PNS!

Agreed army eats way too much their equipment is also not that much expansive as compared to Navy and airforce

At least 25 ships 12 subs 30 fighter jets 40 boats 15 ASW aircrafts 40 helicopters should be a goal to achieve

army has 700K to feed and dress whereas navy a fraction of that.

Helicarier is mutlifunctional platform. Good for hunting subs and Anti ship operation.. also very economical. Pak should build it herself.

In due time the island building must be pursued. Not only for defensive purposes but for economic and research purposes as well.

Time has changed countries who has better navy better airforce and a reliable army to just hold the land will win the war

If navy buy new ships it's sailors will increase too

Without good navy army is useless if Indian Navy breached our sea shores than Indian naval and army will March on our land and army has to fight 1 war at 3 fronts eastern wester and sea shores so better equip navy with better ships airdefence systems and also a second strike capability

Tomorrows war has little to do with it.Today's war has more importance,the war on terror is being fought 98% Army 2% the rest.
Navy already got it's bite from the pie,deals worth of more than 7+ billion$ were materialised in 2 years time includes modernisation of augusta 90b,8 type 41 aip subs,more Chinese and Turkish frigates are also on their way.
Air force are in pursuit of self reliance,they don't need newer crafts they need expertise and tech.
Newer arm is needed that is marines full seperate marines which will protect our shores
