MQM leaders seek security

KARACHI - Voicing serious concern over the sensitive intelligence agencies reports concerning terrorist organisations plan of attacking Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s leaders and government officials, the MQM Coordination Committee on Tuesday urged the authorities to help provide effective security to its party leaders, elected representatives and government officials.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Central Coordination Committee regretted that though three MQM Members of Sindh Assembly, several office-bearers and important personalities belonging to different walks of life had already been killed at the hands of terrorists, no sincere efforts were made to wipe out terrorists.
The Committee said that in the light of the sensitive agencies’ report that the terrorist organisations had chalked out a plan of attacking MQM leaders and government officials, it was obligatory upon the government to help provide effective security to Muttahida’s leaders, elected representatives and government officials and take concrete measures to curb the acts of terrorism.
