Most powerful special forces in the world

ISI is the best, SSG is the best, Pak Army is the bestest, wonder why Pakistan is not the safest place in the world :cuckoo:

Because the world knows it can defend its bases quite well and they try harder and harder to breach the defences but they fail, ever wondered why India is attacked too less? Keeping in mind the circumstances of Pathankot air base attack.

It is said that the real training of SSG starts when your stamina, steadfastness, determination etc all finishes. Then U survive with only your will power and that is why the iteration ratio in SSG training is so high that on average only 20% of the original ones make it to the end. I cud see many sissies in this video who were about to burst into tears with combined load but what about the daily runs up and down the Cherat road with big packs where either U perform or quit? No frowning is allowed as U wud straight away be shown the gates if they feel U aint tagging along.Wud never criticize any other special force or training but we shud admit that even if SSG is not the best but it is amongst the best of the world.

The fanfare with SSG is strong here. Ever since SSG featured in an article (written by some XYZ person who doesn't have a defense profile) featuring so called top 9 list of Special Forces in an Australian magazine called Business Insider the fanboys went bonkers !! That Australian magazine never dealt with global security issues.

Here have a look:

The 9 most elite special forces in the world | Business Insider

This article even went to an extent of naming US Marines as Special Forces !! :cuckoo:

Plz try to understand what is written just at the beginning of the thread. Media in GCC is totally controlled and anything popping up in media is what the Govts think out there. Its a piece of mind from GCC and the writer is written it clearly that U may not agree with whats written. Purpose is not to ridicule anyone of make fun of. There is nothing called Best Ever in the world. Everything has got flaws.

In No way purpose of this thread is to undermine any other Country's Special forces but just to show the Middle Eastern perspective of what they think about different Elite Special Forces of the World. The claims are not backed by any facts or figures but just a compilation from different sources as stated.

Here is a selection of five most dangerous special forces in the world.

In a world where everyday news is full of terrorist attacks and organised crime, special forces have an unavoidable role in any nation's security.

Unlike military power, special forces' strengths, abilities and even shortcomings are difficult to measure until they are in action. Many of the missions of these special forces are covert and details of those are not published.

Highly effective selection process, hectic training, modern and state-of-the-art equipment and many more factors decide the success of special forces. While the military power can be measured by the human strength and number of air, naval and land forces' equipment it is not possible for the special forces.

Here is a selection of most dangerous special forces in the world. The selection is a compilation from various sources, which differ in their opinions.

SAS

British Army's Special Air Services are undoubtedly among the most dangerous and have been an influential model for other countries in the formation of similar forces. Formed as a unit of British Army in 1941, SAS advanced further in the later years.

A cross country march of 64km with full equipment, hill climbing, swimming, testing jungle survival skills and resistance to interrogation include the selection process.

SAS has proved its mettle in many actions around the world. The selection and training process makes it the best among the world's special forces.

US Navy SEALs

The US Navy's Sea, Air and Land Teams are part of the US Naval Special Warfare Command and US Special Operations Command.

The birth of US Navy SEALs can be traced back to 1942 formation of Scouts and Raiders group for special operations. Later in 1961, John F Kennedy paved way to the formation of SEALs and the special forces took a decisive role in Vietnam war. It also took part in Iran-Iraq war, Gulf Wars and Afghanistan war. Most recently, SEALs were in news in 2011 for the killing of Osama bin Laden.

In 2015, it was announced that SEALs would recruit women to the forces if they can pass the tough training session. Considered that the dropout rate of men in during the training phase is more than 80 per cent, this could be rigorous.

Shayetet13- Israel

A unit of Israeli defence forces, Shayetet13 specialises in sea-to-land incursions, counter terrorism, sabotage, maritime intelligence gathering and hostage rescue.

The group was formed in 1949, but was not as efficient as today in its first decades. With joint training programmes with US Navy SEALs and other similar forces and most-advanced weaponry, Shayetet13 have grown in capacity and proved its ability in many recent operations in Lebanon, Gaza, Syria and Liberia.

Shayetet13 has a tough 10-month training process which gives them physical and mental power, advanced infantry training and underwater and above water experience.

SSG Pakistan

Pakistan's special operation force Special Services Group is modelled after British SAS and US Navy SEALs and is assessed as one among the best special forces in the world. It has participated in various operations in domestic and international levels after its formation in 1956.

SSG performed key roles in Pakistan's war with India, Soviet-Afghanistan war and operations supporting Saudi Arabia. Now SSG is operational in Pakistan's fight with Taleban and other terrorists.

During its primary years, SSG took training and equipment from US forces and in recent years has acquired most advanced Chinese equipment.

Hard selection methods and training improve the quality of SSG and makes it one of the best.

GIGN - France

France's National Gendarmerie Intervention Group (GIGN) group is trained specifically to respond to hostage situations.

Since its creation in 1974, the group has taken part in more than 1,000 operations and liberated over 500 hostages. During the recent Paris attacks, GIGN was successful in securing hostages in Bataclan Theater attack by Daesh and Al Qaeda hostage situation in Mali's Bamako hotel

i think if the training was a gruelling as shown in that video, the SSG would look much smaller, looks can be deceiving, but i've seen old looking men in the pak SSG if any of them had to go through that shit they would have a heart attack/respiratory arrest.

and i agree about your statement, its hard to determine which special forces are the best, in terms of experience i would say the SSG ranks quite high, in terms of military technology etc there not in the same league as some of the western one's, theres a dellusion that the Pak ssg are armed with a vast array of great weaponry, theres many soldiers who still use modifed/scoped AKs, Theres no doubt the SSG are an effective force, probably one of the best in south east asia or compared to the arab militaries, but they don't have access to satellite technology or other gadgetry which stops them from being up there.

Ok Give Me one Example of Success of SSG Against India at Any operation
Quite a few although they are tactical in nature. In 1971, SSG had conducted multiple interdiction operations around the Dras area. Small teams were embedded across the IB and they conducted multiple harassment missions (as an example CJCS Gen Shamim Alam Khan was decorated for such missions in the 1965 war, and Brigadier Tariq Mahmood earned his decoration with bar for his mission in the Dras area. All of this is documented in the Pakistan Army history books which were published by the Army Services Club but never made it into the mainstream.

Its not about the equipment. There aren't very many special forces beyond a few in the West such as the US, British and the French who have had as much experience as the Pakistani special forces in real combat (They are being rotated and employed for the past 10 years in COIN. They have fought 3 full on wars, and 2 major conflicts). As much as I don't like being drawn in these silly comparisons but all I can say is that we can very well hold our own against the best Special Forces of the world. In terms of experience in conventional, counter insurgency and terrorism, our Special Forces have seen more action than most others in the world. As such equipment is only a secondary consideration.

All others are very good too, that is why they are called "Special". However I am just speaking from the experience standpoint. The shiny kit syndrome is all nice and dandy, however spectacular special operations have been conducted by people wearing sandals and carrying a single AK-47 and nothing else.

.
Glad to see SSG on the list & SSG experience grows day by day because of in live action action action against rented terrorists & overseas spies.
