These are two fine contracts for French arms manufacturers. According to several sources, Nexter recently signed a 200 million euro contract for the sale of Caesar truck artillery systems (€170 million) and its ammunition (€30 million). In addition, according to our informations, MBDA sold in 2019 for 200 million euros of VL-Mica surface to air missiles. Contracts that could be announced during Emmanuel Macron's visit to Morocco on February 12 and 13.

It's a good start with 40 caesar and 4 vl-mica batteries. if macron and mbda bring to the table SAMP/T NG with a reasonable price maybe morocco will change his mind and cancel the patriot deal with usa.

. . .
Any idea how many vl-mica batteries Morocco purchased?

Nothing official yet but it's said Morocco might have acquired 4 batteries.

Through its High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security, Josep Borrell, the European Commission has affirmed that Morocco has every right to acquire any military technology anywhere in the EU.

"There is no EU embargo on arms sales to Morocco," said Borrell.

Indeed, Morocco is one of the countries to which exports of military technology from the EU are authorized by a legally binding framework.
