What's new

More than 20 dead, doctor says, as anti-China riots spread in Vietnam

No where near the stupidity of your kind for smashing your Toyotas LOL

Ethnic Chinese have already been beaten, next move is to close the North border and stop all trade. I bet the Korean and Japanese will be more than happy to grab the 24 billion usd of annual trade surplus that you gain from us

I'm loving it. Our patriotism has been showned in this event. Our arms procurement process will speed up because of this event. Thank you China
cloth border,that is good idea
26billion? is that much money?

China can muscle Japan, if Vietnam thinks the same, my god they are in for a treat. Because China dont **** around.

They can beg for Japanese or American coming, but if they won't or invest less. Let's see VN & VCP how to play game in 2014 worst economy. I think China company should wake up and think twice to invest Vietnam.

Vietnamese angry will make their government & country more poor, it's good for China.

Why Vietnam so stupid? It's Vietnam who need those factories to provide jobs for their starving-to-death people.
Vietnam is the world's largest rice exporting country. We lack many things but never lack rice.
We need foreign investment, but all Vietnamese hate China's investment. Now there's a movement calling government to limit China's investment and increase friendly country's investment like India. Now this is a good chance.

Vietnam's trade with China
Fellow travellers, fellow traders

Certainly Vietnam is suspicious of China, and has been for centuries, if not millennia. For hundreds of years at a stretch China's emperors ruled over parts of Vietnam; today the names of the country's biggest boulevards commemorate heroes who fought against foreign invaders, including the Chinese. Though hardliners within the Communist Party leadership might prefer to look to China for inspiration before turning to the America, especially when it comes to issues of internal security, post-revolutionary Vietnam is not always happy with its neighbour. Last year 12 weeks of essentially government-sanctioned protests against China's actions in the South China Sea were a vivid demonstration of that.

All is not mutual suspicion however. Throughout recent years Vietnam and China have excelled at trade.
China is Vietnam's largest trading partner. Last year their two-way trade stood at $36 billion, while trade between America and Vietnam was $22 billion. Their two-way trade however is a bit more one-way than the Vietnamese would like. Their trade deficit already stands at $1.85 billion for the first two months of 2012, according to Vietnam's General Statistics Office.

China remains Vietnam's biggest trade partner in 2013
HANOI, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- China remained Vietnam's largest trade partner in 2013 with total turnover reaching 50.21 billion U. S. dollars, up 22 percent year-on-year, according to statistics from the Vietnam Customs on Tuesday.

Specifically, in 2013, Vietnam spent 36.95 billion U.S. dollars for imports from China, up 28.4 percent, while it transported some 13.26 billion U.S. dollars worth of goods to China, up 7 percent year-on-year.

During the period, imports from China accounted for 28 percent of Vietnam's total import value, while exports to China accounted for 10 percent of total export value, said the customs office.

Vietnam's trade deficit with China in 2013 stood at around 23.7 billion U.S. dollars in 2013, an increase of 44.5 percent compared to 2012, said the customs office.

Bilateral trade turnover is expected to reach 60 billion U.S. dollars in 2015.

You hate Chinese investment, why you bring them to your country at the first place? You can cut anything off from China, but you still have to import from and export to China, this can never be changed, even the whole worlds' have business with China, how could you be be excluded solely? You Vietnam still have too much delusion, you can do anything you like, we wouldn't bear any loss from Vietnam, who dafuq cares you?

that is very regretful.

peaceful protest: Yes
violent protest: No

that unnecessary action brings shame to Vietnam. Though, the OP is a bit dramatic. what I can see is a smashed window and a vandalised office. the protesters who did it should be fined. there is no excuse.

smashing factories? the OP lies and instigates.

Chinese businessmen went to Vietnam to earn money, no one invite them, we invite the whole world except China. If China doesn't care us, we are very happy, we don't care how rich China is also. Chinese factories destroy their country's environment already, that's vietnam should not let them build factories in Vietnam before it's too late.

your comment is stupid. don´t generalize thing.

yes, we may be poor and starve to death, but Vietnam is not stupid. We are much more civilized than you. See history of protests in Vietnam and China. Sure, some of our compariot protesters were too hot blooded. that shouldn´t be. luckily, only a window and an office were smashed. Most of us don´t tolerate that.

I wonder why the police acted too late.

you instigate and scold on Vietnam here without knowing facts.

FDI mostly come from Japan, S Korea, Singapore. Now more money come from Taiwan, HK and China because the businesspeople expect getting benefits from Vietnam participating TPP. China portion perhaps makes up less than 3% of all total FDI. Until recently China investment in Vietnam was virtually non-existent.

You rather invest in Africa than in Vietnam. That is the fact.

You talk a lot of BS considering how the Chinese reacted to the Japanese over Senkaku islands.

Our coastguard cutter is still cruising around Diaoyu island within 12 miles. Where is Japs‘ ship, where is American war ship?

Burn China facotry, burn jobs, burn VN economy ... :chilli::flame:Well done, Vietnamese.:coffee:
Will i see killing Vietnam-Chinese on Vietnam street ??! :pop:
