Blocked by China? I believe the world doesn't create the world map with the word "west philippine sea" on it. No wonder Wikipedia doesn't show it either. Only some Pinoy would edit the map on his blog.

This is best way to go down in the history faster than rising up.

How confusing. On what basis can the pinoys carve out a 'west PH sea' from the south china sea, when there are no geographical markers that would demarcate a 'west PH sea', and given that people would only confuse it with the already extant 'philippine sea'? It seems like the basic tenets of geography are lost on them.

Where is this "West PH sea"? I can't find it on a map anywhere. Is this article from an alternate dimension where the Philippines is a sovereign and independent nation that respects others' territorial integrity and gets along with its neighbors?

whatever logic you'll throw on naming of "West Philippines Sea",will just boomerang to us as all these names are given by europeans.so all these names are almost from same equal age.atleast near a dozen names are given by Chinese Dynasties itself.all the name does is mark a region,thats all.by the way,there isn't any "geographical basis" on 9 dashed lines either,just another ploy to confuse neighbours,don't you say???

Some facts you should know,

India with its aircraft carrier only challenge China
China with same same AC, think they are in position to challenge USA ?

Vietnam in 1979 only have Soviet backed could counter-attacked well against China
Now everything is difference.

Vietnam now in the line with South Korea and Japan, who officially express their support to Vietnam, alongside with India, Russia, US, ASEAN ...

So we are not alone, you are alone, Chinese guys.

You must fight not only one war with Japan ( US backed), you must fight against India, Russia, Vietnam, ... at the same time.

US would soon lift the lethal weapon restriction selling barrier off Vietnam. We expect some P3C armed aircrafts and missiles.
Russia re-establish their base in Vietnam too.
India gave credit for 10 patrol ships and study the chance to provide Brahmos to Vietnam
We expect some more on nuclear technology and equipments from US, Russia, Japan at the same time and Epsilon rocket from Japan, US even propose to give credit for Vietnam satellite program ...
