After making a visit to China in November, Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi may mark yet another beginning by visiting neighbouring country, Pakistan as a delegation of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) has invited the chief minister to Pakistan and share the success of Gujarat model with the industry captains there.
Impressed by Gujarats development, a Pakistani business delegation during its meeting with chief minister Narendra Modi at his residence in Gandhinagar called for exploring greater cooperation in trade and industry between Gujarat and Pakistan, a state government statement said. The statement further mentioned that the delegation invited Modi to visit Pakistan and address the corporate heads of Pakistans industries and business on the "Gujarat model" of development through video-conference to be arranged by the Karachi Chamber.
The delegation was on Gujarat visit at the Asia Colour Chemicals Mega Exhibition being held in Ahmedabad and took some time off from the exhibition and met the chief minister and held a detailed discussion as how to develop the relations between the two regions.
The delegation, including business persons like Messrs Zafar Ahmed, Asif Iqbal Hada, Aadam and Nasir, was impressed by the state governments transparent and progressive policies, which are conducive for industrial growth, said the statement.
Looking to the long association between Gujarat and Sind regions, they urged Modi to use his good offices to start a direct flight between Ahmedabad and Karachi.
