What you don't understand is that most western European nations, particularly Scandinavians, are welfare states with extensive safety nets for their people. Unlike India, they take care of their people with free health care, education, food stamps, welfare payments, unemployment allowances, etc. etc. They don't throw away anything until their people are taken care of first.

You must check their population first Mr.Haq then compare with India..how can we allow free health care, education, food stamps, welfare payments, unemployment allowances, etc. etc to all sectors of people for free?Even countries like US cant do that because of sheer population..where as countries with small population like Canada and Scandinavian nations which has strong industrial devalopment can do it easily ..

India is not developed country.we need loans for development

but according to mr.haq pakistan is developed and they dont need loans for development

Most developing countries, including China, India and Pakistan, receive aid (grants and soft loans), but only Indians like you seem to take the money and deny receiving any aid.

.
There is widespread hunger and malnutrition in all parts of India. India ranks 66th on the 2008 Global Hunger Index of 88 countries while Pakistan is slightly better at 61 and Bangladesh slightly worse at 70.

Haq's Musings: South Asia's War on Hunger Takes a Back Seat

This has been debated to death in the other thread and still fail to understand simple math!!
Check out the pathetic improvement for Pakistan, in 1990 Pakistan was at 24.7 and in 2009 reduced to 21.0
A mere change in 3.7% points from 1990 -2009

India was at 31.7 in 1990 and improved to 23.9 (2009)

Nothing to write home about but since invariably there is always a Indo-Pak comparison, its evident , in this case that this wont take much time for India to beat Pakistan here as well. The scale is actually impressive when you consider India as the second most populated country. Pakistan is failing miserably here! While one may celebrate the current ranking, the same figures, when compared across years paints a sorry figure for Pakistan.!!!

here is the source when the same was argued in a similar thread, where same lines were copied as he went on like a broken record. There is no point in countering him since he will quickly change between poverty-aid and toilets as needed. His comprehension is of course laughable when anybody counter argues!

lolz you trying hard to make us say we are receiving AID by saying China taking loan as AID ..I read about your Bio in another thread posted by an Indian..you are much educated than me and have lot of knowledge than me..let me ask you sir?whats your intention?its been clear from all the postings and links that there is a difference between an AID and a loan..then again you insist on saying its an AID to Indian government..Sir for you, is personal loan is an AID by the bank to you??

Also, as portrayed, India unlike Pakistan is not a total aid receiver, it is also an aid giver. Lets look at some figures

India receives as much as US $654 million in grants but gives out more than 200million as aid to other poor and developing nations

-India has announced US $ 5.4 billion to African countries
HIGH COMMISSION OF INDIA MARITIUS

-Duty free import scheme for 50 Least Developed Countries

-Doubled the number of fellowships given to students from African and Asian countries

-From 2002, to 2006, $650 million had been pledged to India’s Assistance Program for Afghanistan.
* $100 million grant (2001-02)
* $70 million grant to build the Zarang-Delaram Highway
* $200,000 to the World Bank’s Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund (2002)
* $4 million grant to repair and build the Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health in Kabul (2003)
* $4 million grant to build the Habibba School
* $52 million to the World Food Programme, for Afghanistan and Iraq (India is today a net donor to the WFP and IMF).
* $25 million to build the Afghan parliament in Kabul
* A gift of 3 Airbus airplanes to Ariana, the Afghan national carrier.

This program comes under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Program, or ITEC, and was established in 1964!!

Indian Technical And Economic Cooperation DivisionMinistry Of External Affairs

-ITEC covers 156 countries, together with the Special Commonwealth African Assistance Programme (SCAAP).

- Both programs are run by the Economic Division of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

- The MEA also runs the Indian Council of Cultural Relations, which provides assistance and programs to improve cultural ties, for instance through student and teacher exchange programs.

- The ITEC’s official aid budget is roughly Rs. 500 million, annually, and over $2 billion has been disbursed since its inception.

Whereas in contrast Pakistan just gets aid and has no program in such magnitude to help other countries!
