Malaysia demographic engineering against non-Muslims

While malaysia is promoted as a enlightened muslim state, some of the stuff they do to their 40 percent non muslims is shocking.

On the other hand the malays are terribly incompetent compared to indians and partucularly the chinese, so they support these controvercial policies. Add to that mahathir welcomed wahhbi influence with open arms.

The Malays are "terribly incompetent compared to Indians". Fool the Malays are more educated, more professional, and more civilized than the criminal Indians that inhabit their land and country. Indians are the most impoverished and crime-ridden community in Malaysia. The Indian wakes up wishing he could be as competent and at the position of the Malay in Malaysia, that is the reality not what you posted.

Malays have Bumiputra reservations even though they are the majority, whereas Indians started as landless laborers. But those reservations have made them absolutely incompetent. I've worked with them for 8 years now and I've not encountered worse work ethic anywhere else.

Malaysia's systemof classifying ethnicity does not exist in any other country in the world.

Originally, Malays were an ethnic group just like any other people. It meant an ethnic group in the proper sense.

After independence, the Malaysia introduced Bumiputera laws and redefined the entire definition of ethnic Malay. An ethnic Malay is anyone who adopted Malay language and became a Muslim. That is the classiication they use.

So anyone, a Chinese, Ethiopian, or any other ethnic group, can "become Malay" if they convert to Islam and adopt Malay language. They will then get classified as Malay and get bumiputera privileges.

Basically any Muslim immigrant who gets Malaysian citizenship will also get classified as Malay regardless of their ethnic origins, thats why those ID cards were handed out to those Tausug and Indonesian migrants in Sabah.

In fact most Malay leaders are of foreign ancestry. Mahathir Mohammed's grandfather was an Indian Muslim but he is considered 100% Malay.

Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had a Chinese Muslim grandfather and he is considered 100% Malay too.

Tun Abdul Razak is a Bugis, originally from Indonesia, and he is considered Malay.

Tun Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman's grandfather was a Chinese who converted to Islam and he is also part Bugis.

Mohamamad Fatmi Che Salleh is part Chinese.

Tun Hussein Onn is part Circassian.

I believe that there has not been a Malay Prime Minister or prominent politician who is of pure Malay stock.

This system will lead to the dilution of ethnic Malays and it completely twisted peoples perception of religion and ethnicity. The Malays and Chinese in Malaysia think if you convert to Islam, it means you have to become a Malay and identify as one thanks to this mess. Becoming a Malay is called "masuk melayu" and it has been extremely conflated with converting to Islam. You will have some trouble getting them to believe you can convert to Islam without becoming a Malay, because that is what they see. This system means that there is no such thing as a Chinese Muslim in Malaysia since they are forced to become Malay if they want to convert.

Bumiputera is obtained from the Sanskrit word Bhumiputra, Bhumi= land, Putra=son.

All citizens of Malaya should be treated equal:Malays,Chinese and Indians. However Malays are natives in this land,it's understandable they have some special rights

You must know why Singapore left the Malaysia union due to fear of Malaya chauvinism. Chinese and Indians together form the most of the population of Singapore and leaving Malaysia was a good decision taken.

Every country in the world gives their citizens of foreign origin equal rights at par with native origin. Chinese people lives throughout the world, have you ever heard of such double standard in modern world elsewhere like Bumiputera law, Bumiputera law is pure discrimination.

Malays are proud of their Indic heritage, but at the same time, they view Indians as inferior, primitive, and backward.

The Malays have no problem using Hindu derived titles like Maharajah, Sri, and tracing their Sultan's ancestry back to the Pre Islamic Hindu monarchs, or mixing the idea of sacred Kingship and the parts of their culture they kept after converting to Islam.

Vietnamese culture and politicla institutions were all ripped off from China. Their law code, titles, ideology and script were all from China before French colonization.

The Cham Muslims also still value their indic script and indic influnced culture, but Champa's ally was China and not India.

The Malay Malacca Sultanate was also an ally of China, in fact China protected Malacca from Ayutthaya and Majapahit after Parameswara converted to Islam from Hinduism and became Iskandar Shah. China also protected the Sulu Sultanate after it became Muslim.

Many Muslim monarchs in indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines used titles like Rajah and some Indonesian Muslims have Hindu names.

China's allies in soitheast asia were/are Indic influnced states while Vietnam is the enemy.

Culture has nothing to do with alliances and politics.

Suppose the entire world is Indic influenced and formerly Hindu... Then they go to India and see the sanitation there... no toilets, massive slums, you think they will respect India?

Malaysia has a GDP/capita 10 times that of India.

That should say something about whether Malays or Indians are better at running an economy.

Malaya was better off when British left. There was lots of economic activities there thus British brought Indian and Chinese immigrants to work in Malaya.

Doesn't matter, even the Japanese learnt lots of things from the Chinese people from Tea to writing system but at the end they too mistreated the Chinese.

There is a big difference between Chinese who arrived in Malaysia before colonialism and plantation workers brought by Britain.

Chinese who arrived in Malay states before colonialism, adopted Malay language, and married non-Chinese women as concubines (alot of the women were Hindu and animists from Java, Bali and Sumatra). Their descendants became the Peranakan (Baba-Nyonya). They adopted Malay language, culture, clothing and food but remained non-Muslim. There was never any racial riots before colonialism.

The Dutch persecuted Chinese Peranakans in Malacca during their rule. There is also Chinese Peranakans in Indonesia as well. The Chinese in Java revolted against the Dutch in 1741 along with the Javanese but the Dutch were helped by the Madurese in fighting the rebels.

Britain then decided to bring over tens of thousands of people to work on rubber plantations and now palm oil plantations too, and most Indians in Malaysia are descended from these manual laborers, hence their low social status, lack of hygiene and all the other things that accompany it....

You think only Indians had to face discrimination, there is a long history of Sinophobia in both Malaysia and Indonesia.

Anti-Chinese sentiment gaining ground in Malaysia

That happened only after Dutch colonial rule, moron. Racial tensions in Malaysia only happened after British rule too.

The first massacre of Chinese in Indonesia was the Batavia massacre in 1740 when the Dutch wanted to round up all the Chinese and ship them to Sri Lanka, when the Chinese resisted, the Dutch instigated the massacre.

The Chinese and Javanese then rose up in rebellion against the Dutch in 1741. Chinese rebels massacred entire Dutch garrisons during the intittial stages of the revolt. Many of the local Javanese hated the Dutch. The Dutch then crushed the revolt with Madurese help.

The Dutch instigated anti-Chinese policies in colonial Indonesia. They forbade Chinese from assimilating and kept them segregated, they instilled anti Chinese sentiment in colonial education and worked hard to inflame racial tensions. And not just at Chinese, between other ethnic groups too.

The anti-Chinese killings in Borneo in the 1960s were done by pagan Dayaks who were instigated by the Indonesian leader Suharto, who was pro western. Suharto also instigated killings of Timorese and many other ethnic groups.

During 1990s riots, besides anti-Chinese violence, the pagan Dayaks massacred thousands of Madurese Muslims (indonesian government shipped impovershed Madurese to Borneo due to overpopulation on Madura, and left them there), and different ethnic groups in Sulawesi massacred each other in the thousands.

The Arab Muslim leader Mari Alkatiri led the East Timorese struggle for independence against Indonesia and he became the first PM of independent East Timor. He was ousted by Australian instigated unrest, for his pro China and anti western/anti Australian policies.

Also Malaysia's racial problems have nothing to do with state relations or government policies. Mahathir Mohammed is a right wing Malay supremacist and he supports good relations with China. He said America should buzz off and countries in the region should develop good relations with China, and said China is not an imperialist power.

I read reports about mounting anti-Indonesia feeling in China in 1990s.

Indonesia is a pro western country. It supported the Philippines to enter the OIC and its an ally of the Philippines, its against the Moro independence. Misuari and his MNLF were angry at Indonesia over this.

Indonesia itself controlled East Timor from 1975-1999. The Arab Muslim leader Mari Alkatiri founded FREITLIN to struggle for independence of East Timor against Indonesia, even though East Timor is majority Catholic (non Catholics are 1% of the population). When East Timor gained independence, Alkatiri became the first Prime Minister and he led East Timor to get closer with China and be against the west, he challenged Australia's claims over disputed gas fields and invited China to drill. Alkatiri was close to China while he was in exile during Indonesian rule. Australia instigated protests in East Timor to drive Alkatiri from power and install a pro western leader. Australia also used anti-Muslim imagery to demonize Alkatiri in their media.

Indonesia is much more openly pro western than Malaysia is, Malaysia is more comfortable in telling America to mind its own business and pursuing its own policy.
