Nobody provides true technology transfer, it's why local domestic RnD is the only solution
true, but better to get something than nothing.

Say even if India starts producing the F-16, remember it's a single engine jet, US or LM will not be too impressed if on 26 January you resort to towing it on a trailer.
F-16 is like a super tejas better in every way. If India is getting the ToT and rights to build it in India what's the point of Tejas??
could turn your focus to developing and building AMCA
it would be embarrassing for India to scrap the LCA, but once you got a few dozen made in India F-16s those same people laughing will be crapping their pants.
India will have the most advance F-16 in the world with the mode advance systems and weapons to go with it

What does the caption say? Mig aircraft type 33/36/26? Should it not read 21?
As per many Indian members Tejas is 4.5 Gen fighter then why you want to get 180 4th Gen fighter from USA.Indian Airforce would get the following
126 - RAFALEs
108 - Tejas MK1As
180 - US Fighter (mostly F-16s)
90 - FGFA

504 - Total
The F16 they will get is the V version which is way more advanced than our 40 year old block 52As per many Indian members Tejas is 4.5 Gen fighter then why you want to get 180 4th Gen fighter from USA.
Block 52+ not 40 years old (Air Force took delivery of its first F-16C Block 52+ aircraft on 22 May 2008)40 year old block 52
Try convincing our friends from across the border.Block 52+ not 40 years old (Air Force took delivery of its first F-16C Block 52+ aircraft on 22 May 2008)
Like what the f16? Rather work on LCA mk2 at least all the data and tech will be mine.

When Mumbai happened, where were Pakistan f16? did at that time Pakistan asked for US approval? You do have a good sense of humour
But dont worry we wont put F 16 on a trailer ;
But you know what
we will keep F 16 at a Forward Air base WITHOUT the US personnel watching us
ALL the time as they watch your F 16s at Jacobabad
And we can change their bases any time we want
we wont need US permission for That
Now tell me Which country should FEEL more EMBARRASSED
India or Pakistan
If Both have F 16 s ; India would ALSO have operational freedom
whereas you would always be under US THUMB
French sarcasm knows no bounds.Underlining the irritation at repeated US offers to set up an assembly line in India to build the American F-16 Super Viper, the French official taunted: “If you don’t want the Rafale, go ahead and build the F-16 here. You can build it in India and supply it to Pakistan also.”
Source: Make F16s and Sell it to Pakistan. France taunting India while Rafale deal weakens further

Right! The sellers are always at the mercy of buyers! They need to sell their wares to remain viable. It's the economy of scale. A couple of Rafales to Qatar and Malaysia would not change the predicament the French would be in.French side needs buyers & it's our money..So French has most to lose..We have enough options..This is just a battle cry..
