Iranian generals and government officials are leaving IK with very little maneuvering space with regards to balancing the Saudi-Iranian equation. On the one side Saudi offers tangible financial benefits whereas a deterioration of ties with Iran helps India to further strengthen its foothold in the region.
Ideally IK should be able to balance both but Pakistan is being pushed into a corner by this verbal barrage from Iran, and this will only further public opinion in favor of Saudi. Unless Tehran wants Pakistan completely and utterly in the Saudi camp, it should show more maturity and desist from such public statements. Otherwise the situation will become completely black and white, to the benefit of neither party in the wider timeframe.
