Coudnt agree more with the bolded part, dont at all agree with the religious extremists but also on the other side the arrogance of the so called "liberals" towards anything traditional, conservative is beyond me. They in their attempt to become western and "cool" forget their own identity. This trend is growing in the larger cities especially.

There is a difference between westernization and globalization. Basically adopting telephones, internet, and keeping up with the world is globalization. Westernization is a forced attempt to become something you are not. However as you said if people want to become "westernized" then do so, live and let live, couldnt care less, but when these people believe that they are somehow superior to more traditional people thats what bothers me. I personally like to see myself in the middle but of course only another person can tell me if thats true or not.

Il give you a quick example, if you speak English in Lahore, Karachi you'l be regarded as very well educated, up to date etc. However if the same person starts speaking Punjabi then the reaction will be "Paindooo".

I will repeat , Educate yourself , you are just making yourself look like a fool.

Dec 1962 , first amendment restored the name under same administration , Alcohol wasn't legal too.

I wonder why you always support and quote dictators and then talk of democracy.
