Err the OBC quotas given to Muslims is based on castes.


By that logic before muslims arrived India was a hindu state and now its a secular democratic state hence Hindus deserve reservations.

Try sounding rational sometimes for a change.

If Hindus are getting reservation based on their caste then why is BJP/Sanghis having a problem if a similar benefit is provided to muslims(Since they believe in zero appeasement and equal opporunities)...

For reservation system to be successful in emancipation of backward sections it should solely be based on economic status of an individual irrespective of his caste or religion. But that is not happening anytime soon, so the Muslim backward castes should be given reservations which they are being given under OBC quota. Whether or not they should be given reservations under SC or ST quota is a matter debatable. But to say all Muslims must get reservations because they are Muslims as suggested by our resident jihadi here is ludicrous.

All muslims are not getting reservation and even the right minded muslims wouldn't really want one. If underprivileged muslims of India are given equal opportunities in a way by providing reservations, that would help India's cause....

Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) will launch an agitation against Maharashtra government’s decision to scrap job reservations for Muslims.

MIM MLA from Aurangabad, Imtiaz Jaleel and Byculla MLA Waris Pahan will also be addressing the gathering which will be attended by party workers from across the state.

The party has asked all MIM units to submit a memorandum to respective district collectors or tehsildars on January 6 to register their protest against the state government’s indifferent attitude towards reservation for Muslims, Jaleel said.

“The state government has brought a bill in the Nagpur state legislative assembly session in December that will enable 16 per cent reservations for Marathas while refusing to bring an ordinance for continuing reservations for Muslims,” he said.

The matter related to reservations for Muslims and Marathas is scheduled to be heard in the Bombay High Court, after the Supreme Court refused to entertain the petition of the state government.

The party will hold a rally in Beed on January 6, to be addressed by party President Asaduddin Owaisi.

This reservatiion genie was unleashed by that stupid VP Singh. Unfortunately even BJP cant do away with reservation.

It is like the blasphemy law of Pakistan. Right minded people know it is bad but no one can scrap it.

I would have liked reservation for only the poor irrespective of caste creed religion. A poor muslim will get reservation and so will a poor brahmin. The Rich will not get reservation. And the benefits of reservation will be given for only 2 generations. If in 2 generations the people cant better their standard of living then it is worthless to continue to give them crutches.

You say that right minded muslims do not want reservations but "secular" parties like MIM, SP, TRS etc and muslims like @mujhaidind say that reservation is their birthright

This 5% quota is nothing. Like I have earlier said we need 25% resevation in Jobs(private as well as govt), education and legislature. This is the final goal of MIM not your 5% quota. Inshallah when Muslims start voting for only MIM, this goal will be achieved. Beleive it will happen soon.

Not sure if these parties wanted reservations for all muslims, but erstwhile United Andhra Pradesh had reservations for muslims but that reservation was only for weaker sections among muslims and not all muslims were entitled to such reservations...

Why are you acting so thick? The reservations for Muslims under OBC quota is based on castes.
Did I say underprivileged Muslims should not get reservations? Your jihadi brother says reservation is a privilege for every Muslim of India irrespective of their socioeconomic status.

nobody is against giving reservation to muslims. and i agree muslims are among groups who did not got economic and social growth in last 67 years. so muslims should get reservation in education and government jobs. but please dont get angry so early wait till high court decision. muslims will surely get what is their legitimate right.

I have already given more than 1 reason in this thread.

We are the most discriminated and persecuted community in India. Our econimic condition is very bad. Remember it was the Hindus who promised us fair treatment if we stayed in India after the partition. SCs and STs have already benefitted a lot from reservations now it is the time of Muslims.
Reservations to Hindus should be scrapped and instead only Muslims should be give reservations.

This is what I propose:

1. 25% reservations in jobs(pvt as well as Govt) and education
2. Graduation level education of Muslims must be sponsored totally by the government.
3. 0% interest loans to Muslim entrepreneurs
4. 25% Reservation in Legislature
5. Haj subsidy must be scrapped instead the state should totally sponsor the expenses of Muslim pilgrims
