Naeem is based in Jinnah colony too. And yes Chiniot Pakwan is good but not as good as Naeem.

I tried Muhammadi nihari in Islamabad once, and sorry to say, I could not eat a complete nan.

@Rafael bahi koi ha acha Nihari wala tu do share :P Same city ka koi to faida ho. I am RELATIVELY new in the city (three four years only)

By the way, try using Shan Masala to avoid hassle. It produces delicious Nihari as well.

You can use pressure cooker (for 45 minutes from when it starts whistling) to make the meat tender. Do it as mentioned on Shan Masala box, except cooking it for 8-10 hours. That's where you can use pressure cooker. I am sure you will like it very much.. :)
with all due respect .. nihari/paya/haleem etc are not supposed to be cooked at home. they are restaurant or community food and should be enjoyed there !

Has anyone tried Hareesa by the way??
not yet.. but i guess it will taste SIMILAR TO hALEEM. Right ?

No wonder it left for Pak. Man, if you ever have a chance, try nehari in Karachi. You will see the futility of this thread then.

with all due respect .. nihari/paya/haleem etc are not supposed to be cooked at home. they are restaurant or community food and should be enjoyed there !

If you live in a country where the community doesn't have culinary sense, it's better you cook these foods at home to satisfy your craving.

By the way, if you ever go to Dubai, contact me here and I will tell you where to get Javed Nihari in tin packing. Of course the taste will not be same as you get fresh, but it will give you an idea how delicious Javed Nihari is..

Unfortunately, Nahari is not really available in Kochin and Kerala. We have our own authentic beef curries and dried beef (Beef Jerky IIlr).

I have tried nihari in Isb, Lahore & Multan, but its useless.
The best available nihari is in Karachi.

Next time you visit Karachi, give me a call and we will have nihari.

since last 7-10 days i was suffering from sore Throat, cough and running nose. Tried everything. but no solution.

Finally had two large bowls of Nihari during the weekend. Worked as magic.
Now its next to impossible to get Nihari in Bangalore. But u can get decent one in Tunday Kwabi ( a branch of a world famous Tunday Kwabi of Lucknow fame).

SO in this changing weather if any of my fellow bangalorean is suffering from ore Throat, cough and running nose please hae a go at Nihari.

1. Nihari is made of beef as well mutton. What i had was mutton nalli nihari. beef is available in bangalore.
2. Tunday Kawabi : is 100+old establishment based in Lucknow famous for Galawat ke Kabab. so famous that Tunday ke kabab is synonymous with Galawat ke Kabab. in last 10 years they have fairly expended all over india and has currently one branch in bangalore.
