Will tell you.I try making things without using any of the packets....
Tht vid, u shared....i have seen tht vid before..but found it bit confusing......but i want to know the exact quantities of ingredients? If you can share, exact quantities of ingredients of your version ( or your mother's version..as u say) ...esp how much water, and then aata to use proportionately, depending on meat? Mujh se hamesha is main garbar hoti hai..i never get the texture of nihari right..like tht of restaurant style nihari......and ofcourse need quantities of spices....as per your version

You are welcome...
It is,Lol! Tabhi to uss mei zyada maza hai. Jitne mehnat, utni lazzat.
But seriously, the texture on Camel Meat is heavenly.
There used to be a “Delhi ki mashhoor Nihari” restaurant on College Road in Rawalpindi during my school days at St Mary’s Murree Road. I tried many time but found it too hot. In Karachi at Burns Road there were also quite a few Nihari sellers but I always found too many green chillies floating around.
On the other hand “ Kunna gosht”, a specialty of Chiniot (half way between Sargodha & Faisalabad) is one of my favourites. I find it ‘Finger licking good’ but because it is too greasy, I don’t eat it very often.
However I admit that many of my friends would die for a good Nihari
It is,
best meat that i have ever eaten, specially the seekh kababs from camel meat, MAN!!

you should!!When we lived in Pakistan, Nihari was like a novelty we had every week or two, tried all the ones that are there from the best. Camel meat beats them all, hands down. Not tried Seekh kebabs from Camel meat though, I'll get it down on the list of "to do" things when I visit Pakistan.
The "Chiniot Pakwan" on Chenone road also serves nice Kunna!!
(may be they are the same)
I however prefer it from a Chinioti cook in Jinnah colony (sadly he makes on order only )
I am not sure camel meat dishes are readily available in restaurants. I have tried them all at home.have never tried nihari from camel meat...sounds bit strange...
but where can we get nihari from camel meat, in Karachi?
Where is this Naeem guy working from? The one i am talking about, his place is in Jinnah Colony.Yes, but not as good as this guy I am talking about.
Maybe the chinioti cook is the same Naeem that I am talking about. And yes, he makes on order only.

For ready made, if you need as a regular order, i know this "Chiniot Pakwan" on Chenone road, he is nice too.
For best Nihari in Karachi
