TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran unveiled a surgeon robot named 'Sina' capable of carrying out surgical operations on patients from remote distances.
"The robot has an advanced performance in the field of remote surgery and corresponds to the American Da Vinci robot," the manager of the project to build Sina robot, Farzam Farahmand, said on Tuesday.
"By this robot, the surgeon makes different moves using a monitor and two surgery arms on that part of the body which should go under surgery and he/she is connected to the patient with a number of cameras," he added.
Noting that Sina remote surgeon robot has been designed and built by Sharif University of Technology and Tehran's Medical Sciences University, Farahmand said that the robot is mostly used for abdominal surgeries and has been tested on sheep.
Iran has in the last few years taken a wide stride in area of science and technology, including robotic sciences.
The development was made after Iranian researchers built a robot for rehabilitation of people suffering stroke which can return hands power to these individuals in four phases.
“We delivered robotic laboratory equipment in the study for industrial and rehabilitation purposes,” said Esmayeel Qareh khani, the lead author of the study, last month.
“We designed a rehabilitation robot for people with brain lesion, which is capable of rehabilitating hands,” he said, adding that the robot helps these people return link between their hands and brain network.
The first phase is diagnosis phase, during which some tracks are shown in the monitor. The patient puts his hand on the robot’s arm and takes its handle to lead the arm towards the tracks.
In the second phase, the patients who lack control on their arms take the robot’s handle to move towards a specific direction. The robot helps the patients and brings back sense to the patient’s hands after several days.
In the next phase, the patient can move the handle without any resistance and move towards the intended place.

You know, now that you brought it up and I look closer, it looks like they are made of cardboard! What do they take us for? Propaganda after propaganda! I also could see a barcode that says it was imported!!!!!!Meh . big deal .
every one can do this . what is this ? 1850s ?
Cloning ? meh . futureworld movie - Google Search
High tech drugs ? bibi's retard nephew makes them in his under pants .
Stem cell ? World's future sole Neurosurgery Hub ?
neurosurgery my A$$ doctor samie !!
World's biggest neurosurgical hospital my butt .
pfft .
Should I copy paste all the photos there?Amazing!
@scythian500 maybe you should add this to your "Mullah Made" thread too. Who could think they are so capable?!!
baba, my little brother was playing with 3D printers in his university out here. My whole point is every other country in the developed world and most of the developing world is doing 1000 times more than you guys, yet they don't have 1% of the "unveilings" and ceremonies you guys have. Japan is on another planet compared to you guys, yet they don't talk 1/100000000000000000th of the amount you lot talk.@Abii
gholi the gonde gooz, these are the real achievements in robotic and mechatronic. Shame on you.
That robot was designed and produced by a private company and it was unveiled in a public exhibition.maybe instead of polluting the thread with your rants you should close the garbage you call it mouth and stick to your hammali? It's like talking to a wall. Those are industry events where companies advertise their products, invite investors, bring in potential buyers, invite journalists etc... They are held by private companies, not the federal government, not the provincial government, not the Canadian armed forces...
The mullahs send in guys when a 10 meter bridge gets opened. Take this robotic arm thing. What was the point of the "unveiling" ceremony? Do we know which company made it? What it's selling for? Which group of investors were invited? What the goal of the unveiling was? None of it. It's just propaganda bull shit. Did they even made that thing themselves or just buy it from the open market?
There is North Korea and Iranian "unveiling" ceremonies and then there is Bombardier and Apple holding press conferences and events to sell their products. I love how delusional you guys are. Posting pictures of Honda, Apple, Bombardier, NASA etc... Each one of those companies can buy the whole country of Iran outright.
