you see Japan with 144 billoin, S.Korea 44 billion France 42 billion while Iran is only 6.2 billion and to be honest I'm in doubt that's real, so they have @ least 10 years from now if they be little generous.

of topic: for my country to catch up with advanced countries we need to spend for the first 5 years 2-3 billion and double that for the other 5s and so on doubling it for 20-30 years, we would be advanced country if we do this and only this since they already they spend generously, now were are we absolutely we're not even in that list, good work Mr, Saddam you just put us behind Botswana and Ethiopia.

That is the sad situation in all Muslim countries. Science and education have been neglected for a long time now. There is some resurgence though as with the case of Iran. Hopefully others like Iraq will follow suit. Specially now that Iraqi government is buddy buddy with Iran, maybe they can invite Iranians teaching some R&D which should not be a problem for Iraq to fund since it has got huge oil reserves.

TEHRAN (ISNA)-Chief Executive Officer of Iran Khodro Co., Javad Najmeddin said the home-made Runna would be mass produced and distributed in mid 2012.

He said Runna costs less than $8,000 and it is equipped with safety facilities.
The car has passed 3-star safety standard and euro 4, 5 emission standards. It would be produced in sedan model.
The locally-made car would be produced in two models of TU5 and EF7 consuming low fuel. Also indigenous diesel engine (compression-ignition engine) would be installed on the car next year.
He added the country plans to make 50,000 cars in 2012 and increase the number to 200,000 every year.
Najmeddin continued that the Middle East, Russia, Turkey, South America and America are the most important markets for the Iranian car.
Iran produced 52 Runna sedans in experimental form in 2011.

ISNA - Iran to mass produce indigenous Runna in 2012

8000 is a good price.

Yes, but things do not remain static forever. As political forces get realigned in Iraq stability will follow soon. It is better to have a plan for future Iraq from right now than late. The Kuwait problem is still there because of non-existent unity among Iraqis. Actually Iraq could bring up a case against Kuwait and GCC in international courts and UN for their support of dictator Saddam and force them to pay huge damages to both Iraq and Iran. It should be other way around. Now Iraq is free and should stop paying Kuwait the reparations and instead demand reparations from them for all the damages. It is the moral right. As for Saddam he is dust now but the effect he has left should be neutralized by hard work and new friendships. I think Iraq is on the right track. Given time, things will get better and Iraq can certainly use the example of Iranian hard work to attain a better future.

You rite, but who dare they backed by USA, without we get out that of chapter 7 it's hard and unfortunately as you said Iraqis are not united since there's Ba'athist and secterian leaders like Alhashmy who found shelter @ Alsaud not mentioning the Kurds who willing to keep the situation as it is since it's benefit them our Shia leader who try try avoid a secterian war which is been fed by Alsaud and who behind them!!!!!????? see that's why we can't start a program of R&D, I hope they establish the irst brick of that within few years from now and every thing in Gods hands.

Well as I mentioned above, first Iraqis should work on their unity and making new friends. Once that is done, even if US is supporting enemies of Iraq, they will not be able to silence Iraqis. I think next 10 years are going to be tough on Iraq but that is how all great nations are born. Already Iraq has become internationally enough important for Iran and west to hold their next nuclear talk in Iraq so that will help improve its image around the world.

Malik Ashtar and Longbrained, listening to you guys makes one hopeful for our collective future. I wish more people had your mindset. Enough infighting and backstabbing each other. There's no reason we should be at the bottom for ever.
