M777 HOWITZER DEAL DONE

Let them come up with a working model first,i personally wants IA stop ordering more m777 nd pursue for kalyanamoke guns.

Well it takes time to certify a weapon. It needs to undergo atleast an year of testing with setting of production lines which may take another year. Its been informed at the defex2016 that a prototype would be handed over to the military by the end of this year. So a production not gonna happen before 2019. M777 is a stop gap as I am sure 100 artillery units is just the tip of the iceberg.

Cheaper, lighter and more powerful :D:D

PS India should make its own guns under Modi's "Make in India" policy.

Please share details. :)

Over 4500 155mm Towed guns are to be bought.

It will be fulfilled by
1. Atleast 645 M777s.
2. 155/45 OFB Dhanush guns, atleast 114.
3. DRDO ATAGS 155/52 guns , at least 400. ( Eventually ~1200 Guns)
4. A foreign 155/52 gun built under MII , atleast 1,200.

Then there is
1. 155/52 OFB upgraded Dhanush gun under trails ( this one is not linked to DRDO gun ). A good number of guns will be bought .

2. A plan to buy 105mm light field guns, maybe some ~300 will be bought. To replace pounders and Indian Light Field Gun.
OFB and Kalyani have concepts and plans ready for this.

Now coming to various products by Kalyani, I am not so excited about them in Indian service. Kalyani will get a big pie in DRDO ATAGS project. So the Bharat52 gun is eventually not going to come. Personally speaking , at least 200 Such guns should have been bought as at present we don't have a proven and ready to use new 155/52 gun.

As for Kalyani light gun, the closest competitor of M777 is 1,300 kgs heavier from Singapore , if Kalyani actually builds anything closer to that , a good portion of 500 ultra light guns with go to them.

The M777 is a piece of shit compared with China's AH4 with the latter beating the former over a recent export order from a rich Middle Eastern country.

Lol He's a joker. Everybody knows almost no Howitzer system in the world beats our M777. Period, he should do some research before talking. But i think he just wants to troll India. since you are both developing countries, neighbors and destined to be rivals this century.:D

@Water Car Engineer

If we are gonna go for M777 Ultra guns then how will Kalyani group get the order for 500 Ultra?
