The LTTE attacking the PM and such could be a viable threat. THey have nothing to lose now, and there have been reports of them linking up with Maoists and ISI. There is no reason to suspect otherwise and this could be designed to show that they are still a threat to whoever. LTTE wasn't a good solution but I believe it was the only solution at the time. Atrocities were committed against the tamils for a long time and the international community failed to do anything of substance. I cannot and will not be mad at a group of people who stood up and had enough. That being said, I feel they got greedy in the sense they had an incredible opportunity to gain autonomy but their lust for independence blinded their judgement. If the 26/11 is anything to go by, we might as well start the funeral preparations if the NSG is involved.....the SPG is bad ***. Its sad that they al cannot the same training and equipment......it is truly a shame for India.....every soldier should be equipped just as well. As far as tactically how would the LTTE attack? MAybe a suicide plane stolen from TN airfields....fake encounter with LTTE dressed as police.......mine the stretch of road to be used.....if anything the LTTE should be attacking the Tamil CM for his lack of support.

LTTE was a damn good fighting force. I think the Indian army could've learned a couple of things from them as well even though they were initially trained by them.....seems like the student took the master' teachings and made it better. Off topic but when I heard about the Wikileaks quoting how the Saudi King referring to Zardari as a rotten head and such.....I can relate that to the INdian army with all the kickback schemes, corruption and nepotism. I think the army has some real good soldiers with great ideas but it can never progress if it has corrupt leaders. Look at what the USA thinks about Gen. Kapoor! He wasn't the first. Look at George Fernadez....if you don;t punish these guys in the full public what is going to stop folks from acting the same. They see guys commit crimes and get away from it.....so they'll attempt such crap to.

Come on man...Lets be realistic....the ISI is not a stupid agency...they will use anything and everything to their advantage just like most other agencies......And if they see an opportunity they will use it...simple

well first thing first..Why would LTTE like to assassinate PM even if they are disgruntled with india for not supporting them during srilankan offensive.Dont they know who controls PM manmohan singh.

Secondly, way congress has been behaving after many scams coming to light there is much effort from it to divert the public attention from them...
first it was digvijay singh's statement that karkare called him 2 hrs before the attack now he says he dont ve phone record of that .

seeing Digvijay singh's trick not working congress i think came up with this.Leaders in india are famous for conducting fake attacks on them to garner public sympathy.

You've got to be kidding me! You compare a standing professional army with strict ROE's to a huge Guerrilla force with no ROEs and a carte blanche to attack whatever, whoever, whenever they deem as targets?

IPKF was fed wrong intelligence most of the time resulting in high casualties and on the other hand, SL president Premadasa was feeding the tigers with money and arms against the IPKF! In face of all these setbacks, IPKF still performed admirably!
