Raheel Shareef was appointed not because he was a brilliant General but because he was deemed to be a mild unassuming and not too ambitious guy. People like Gen. Haroon Aslam were ignored then. RS proved to be an aberration to the entire thing, because he's a chip on his shoulder and could not let the blood of a shaheed brother down.

Gen. Bajwa was appointed not because of merit but because of his compromised and insecure mindset (cue in Gen. Rizwan's attempt alongside PMLN to call him out as a Qadiyani before he even had assumed office, the General spent the next six months conducting milad at home). People like Gen. Zubair and Gen. Nadeem got ignored, because they did not need sycophants and were not insecure.

Imran Khan then went on to offer an extension to Gen. Bajwa, ignoring people like Gen. Amir Raza in line for the office of COAS. That's 3 more years of mediocrity and compromises being allowed at helm.

We actually had a General in office whose office called a Brahmos strike inside Pakistan a test missile, before Indians even had the chance to conduct an investigation of their own - because he'd a political project going on within Pakistan and did not need things with India to escalate. A General who used people like Hussain Haqqani and his prodigy Aparna Pande (a Class A Sanghi) from Hudson Institute, to put out a paper in his favor, during his visit to the US.

And now we are here.. each mediocre leader, given his insecure mindset only allows more mediocre people to come forward, thus affecting the quality of leadership of the entire institution. It's a process, it doesn't happen overnight. And things will only get worse from here on, not better.

Tbh id like to cut Asim Munir some slack. We have seen before that the Sharifs appoint their perceived "Boy" to the COAS post and so far last 4/5 did not turn out well for them.

Same can be said this time around. Infact from my understanding he is the biggest potential wildcard of all. He is extremely untraditional in the sense that he has both MI and ISI expertise. A COAS with MI/ISI and such deep intelligence experience is shunned overall. With this intelligence influence he will be able to have a key hold over corp commanders. We are already seeing reshuffling as we speak.

Other aspects of General Munir which makes him a total wildcard
- He is not from the traditional batch of PMA recruits. Instead he was trained in Mangla infantry school
- He has never taken a foreign military course in the west. Most of our previous COAS all had training in UK/US/Canada
- He has no previous family or close relatives in the military. Much different from the previous few COAS
- Regardless of TV propaganda all evidence points to the fact he had decent relations with IK. Apart from Faiz Hameed I believe pyschologically IKs 2nd best bet was Asim Munir.
- From Shuja Nawazs book (who was an officer who served along side him) he quotes the following abt General munir: He is a strict officer known for his strictness with those under him which is legendary in the army.
- Lastly he is a hafizul Quran. His word view is far closer to IKs than the Sharifs/PDMs. I believe that deep down his heart know what is right to do due to his closeness with the dean.
- He is known to be an hardliner on India. Compared to Bajwa who was a peace dove you can say. Munir is a more realist and has a realistic hawkish view on India. Again this fits well with IKs view which was far more hardline against India clashing with Bajwa on few occaisions.

Again I am giving the benefit of the doubt from the above stated facts. Time will tell. But it would be premature to jump to conclusion. The Sharifs bad luck with choosing COAS might actually benefit us again

That story about Justice shaukat siddiqui is false. Asim Muneer had nothing to do with it.

Infact Justice Shaukat Siddiqui himself has denied this in a series of tweets and said Faiz Hameed as DG(C) was behind his removal. At the time Naveed Mukhtar was DG ISI.

Well unfortunately the change of COAS does nothing to change anything. Pakistan Military Generals including this COAS unfortunately have institutionalized corruption, human rights abuses and drug trade from Afghanistan.
Only true revolution can bring change and allow us to arrest these Generals and imprision them for not only crimes against Pakistan people but crimes against humanity including those in Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Till now this is only a pipe dream because Imran Khan is incapable of making this change because he lacks physical power and ruthlessness.

Dear brother. It doesn't matter who is running her twitter account....but i really get confused when "Achay Bhallay" members on PDF start sharing her tweets (real or fake) in support of their own poliitcal arguments....As if Veena Malik's name is a symbol of credibility or some real inspiration. As i said in my previous post, the source credibility theory states that people are more likely to be persuaded or inspired when the source presents itself as credible. Her representation being a Pakistani in Indian media was a vile one. Some idiot said that "Art has no boundaries". Some genius replied that yes "Art has no boundaries but Artists require VISA & PASSPORT."
Just google Veena Malik in India and you will realize how she represented Pakistan over there and how she was discussed in Indian media. And than decide yourself whether her real /fake tweets deserve that much attention.

They've already done that. Gen Bajwa and his colleagues took remedial steps for the deep and nasty rot (that they created in our politics) by revoking their support to a brainless idiot aka Imran Khan Niazi.

The military leadership was deeply disappointed by the lack of capabilities, honesty, dignity, and leadership qualities in this filthy person.
