What's new

Look what a Pakistani man from KPK(NWFP) developed.

Let's see: He saw the movie thirty-three years ago, and the Asian record for highest flight was only 16,000 feet?

That story simply does not appear to be robust or credible. A mechanic made a replica kit plane that made it through a couple of flights. What's the big deal?

VC- no big deal here- We see Replica kit plane flying here every day- People have started making kit plane instead of buying a car here- Now there is a yellow bus kit plane in the making- Shahaz Shareef is working on it--

Ah Mr VC, here we go again. The ever optimist about the US, & the ever cynicist about Pakistan. At a time when everyone outside the US & inside the US is full of cynicism about the country & where it is headed, you put up a brave face. You are quick to bring down anything potentially good for Pakistan. In other words, you are overestimating the capabilities of the US, & possibly underestimating Pakistan's. I really have no objection to this attitude. But then you say you love both countries equally. And you've caught me out a few times saying I should show as much loyalty to the US that I show to Pakistan. But I do not have a hypocritical attitude. I have already told you that I have more affectionate feelings for Pakistan than I do for the US. That doesn't mean I will do anything that will make me act against the US constitution or laws, I fully respect them.

Well said Bilal.
There are problems in Pakistan that our people experience day and night and things are sometimes and the occasional spark is needed to flame a ray of hope and pride about our nation. Its not easy to find but generally all Pakistanis and Indians have the same hopes and desires for their nations.
I too am grateful for having the lifestyle the country i live in has given me but some people go over board about their adopted nation and to be over critical or not to have the desire to have this ray of hope for the country they have their ties and roots with.
The loss of identity becomes apparent and these people become unaccepted by the country they adopted and are for obvious reasons disregarded by the nation of their forefathers.
I believe all things bearing anything with positive from our nation be it tiny must be relished and promoted. I commend this man for his achievements - that my opinion.

I merely assess and state the facts as impartially as possible, without cynicism. And I shall continue to do so. :D

Mr. Vcheng why you always pick negative points ? at least try to think in a positive way and try to appreciate if someone do a good thing ..
But i think it needs lot of courage to accept someone's success ..
Criticism on everything easy while sitting in front of PC but to do such thing is much difficult
there is a thing in this world which is called as optimism if this man made this object today may be in next few years he will be able to build something more effective and valuable

Highest flight in a powered hang glider. 16,000 Ft Asian record doesn't seem that off the mark.

I merely mention points; "negative" and "positive" spins are perceptions on part of the reader, and thus not my problem.

How can one gloss over the fact that it took someone 33 years to copy a kit microlite aircraft, and then accept that the record for ALL of ASIA was 16k feet only now broken?

Facts are facts.

This is no "achievement", and trumpeting this as such blindly merely makes us look as fools.

I am sure you will and thats what with respect we expect from all - but in your case we know the glass will always be half empty not half full.

A glass is ALWAYS full: It is only the ratio of liquid to air that varies!

when anything comes to USA then your optimism is far beyond any limits and whenever it comes to Pakistan you pessimism is far beyond any limits .... two extremes thats strange

It is not strange. My positions are coldly impartial, based on supporting facts.
