I am very impressed with the level of coverage of the rocket launch! I hoped for it, but considering this is China, wasn't expecting it.. as China is usually more secretive compared to NASA / SpaceX... That flame trench live cam is so exciting to see, it's a first I think... RIP flame trench cam.. ..

I hope the next stages of the mission will also be covered as detailed as the launch... The orbiter/lander separation, lander descent & landing, and especially the ascender lifting off from lunar surface and docking with the orbiter...

Chang'e 5 is a Chinese lunar lander and orbiter mission. After reaching the Moon the lander will separate from the orbiter and descend to the surface. The spacecraft plans to collect a surface sample and return it to Earth If successful this will be the first lunar sample return in 40 years.

Chang'e 5 launched Nov 23 20:30 UTC from Wenchang China. After a short time in a LEO parking orbit the spacecraft conducted a trans lunar injection burn at approximately 21:00 UTC to send the spacecraft to the Moon. The spacecraft separated from the second stage rocket after the burn.

This video shows Chang'e 5 (left) and its second stage rocket body (right) on their trajectory towards the Moon. The images were captured with the 0.18 m Pomenis telescope. The images are 60 sec exposures and the telescope was tracking the spacecraft.
