[直播]嫦娥五号任务特别报道 [Live]Chang‘e-5 Lunar Mission Special Report

. . . .
Looking forward to watching the live broadcast, but staying up all night is too hard, I can only get up tomorrow morning to watch the broadcast. o_O :coffee:

. . . . .
Great rehearsal for the eventual manned landing attempt. Fingers crossed for the 27th!
I think the difficult part is not landing but take off and rendenzous with orbiter to send sample back to earth. China lunar mission has landed twice. Safe to say, they shall be quite proficient in soft landing on Moon.

that is correct, it is the first time to attempt that stage. So the most exciting part has yet to come. Chang'e 6+7 will be going to the south poles of the moon if i am not mistaken. All in preparation for sending Chinese to the moon. China also has plans to build a moonbase now that is a huge challenge for 2035 or later. 3D printing on the moon would come in handy

After Finishing China's Large Modular International Space Station (CLM-ISS) in LEO Orbit (2021-2022). They will focus on the Moon.

They will launch Chang-e 6 in 2023 to get sample from South Pole of Moon, after that Robotic Chang-e 7 will launch in 2024 to the South Pole of Moon, followed by Chang-e 8 in 2025/2026 with 3D Space Printer and Luna-27 from Russia. All of that will become Foundation of China's International Lunar Research Station (ILRS) in the South Pole of The Moon

After that, from 2028-2035. They will build Short Term Human Mission using their New Long March Rocket that will have maiden launch before 2025 (70 Tonnes LEO, 25 Tonnes TLI) supported by Permanent Science Robot on their Moon Base

They would also build Space Station on Moon Orbit for Foundation of their Permanent Human Presence Mission on The Moon.

From 2035 onwards, they will build Permanent Human Presence on The Moon

From what I can remember, these are the special event/technology for the Chang'e-5 mission.

First ever for China,
  1. drill for sample in extra-terrestrial bodies
  2. grabbing for sample in extra-terrestrial bodies
  3. takeoff from extra-terrestrial bodies
First ever in the world,
  1. Autonomous docking in orbit around extra-terrestrial bodies

I am very impressed with the level of coverage of the rocket launch! 😲 I hoped for it, but considering this is China, wasn't expecting it.. as China is usually more secretive compared to NASA / SpaceX... That flame trench live cam is so exciting to see, it's a first I think... RIP flame trench cam....

I hope the next stages of the mission will also be covered as detailed as the launch... The orbiter/lander separation, lander descent & landing, and especially the ascender lifting off from lunar surface and docking with the orbiter...

Wishing the best of luck and success t this mission!
