the sort of threads you open...you can consider like text on Jpeg watermarked...or something like a PDF thing

Nothing on a forum is original unless the actual content is written by the poster and is itself cited in the proper manner. Does not matter if you wasted 10 hours to find a picture, you cannot take credit for that by any means. Any post can be copied and pasted anywhere unless it is academically researched and cited in the first place. No thread on PDF carries any copyright protection nor does any post. Many bigger forums have no such issue with their threads being copied so im not sure what your problem is. No such copyright laws exist or can exist, not does a researcher tag on a forum give you any copyright authorities on any of your material. Many threads and material on this forum are also taken from other forums, this is a very common practice. Badwolf is doing nothing wrong, he can copy paste whatever he wants unless he is submitting any material for academic reasons or copying from material that was original in the first place. Please check internet copyright laws from turnitin.com or the APA website if you are not aware of them

i am not asking you to delete any threads -- and i have already said to spark that i am not against dissipation of info --- the fact of the matter is that he is copy pasting the entire thread from A-Z without leaving out a single comma or for that matter even the title of the thread

i am posting threads over here far before the 'researcher' tag and will continue to 'waste' time as this is my hobby

i have stated in the begining 'without due recognition' out of courtesy -- i understand its not something that can be put on trail --- but this is Not a single sporadic case , rather this is a spree


i thought that as these frums are under th same board , there might be some coutesy extended -- i have not posted the names of the threads posted on non sister forum sites

he can copy whatever he wants unless the material you are posting is original in the first place. If you are posting material that "You" have written and academically referenced in the first place only then you can ask to be acknowledged for the effort.Forum posts are all opinions not factual material regardless of what they are about and what time and effort went behind any post. We are all anonymous on the forum and that itself finishes off any credibility that there is to a post. Sorry nothing will change as your arguments makes no sense to me, im in the middle of my doctorate, so I know what requires to be referenced and credited. Even bigger forums like CNET and voice do not stop people from copying and pasting their threads, so I really dont know what you are talking about.

I will watch for such threads but cannot guarantee if any action will be taken, material from IDF is copied by other forums as well, it is a practice that is very common on the internet and cannot be stopped as it makes no sense. Understand your concerns, we will see what we can do, I would recommend you talking to the mods of IDF before you make such issues public.

i can give you an example , if we copy pic from cdf , we just say credits to xyz out of courtesy -- thats all we were looking for among the sister forums!

sir i know your issue has been resolved but my final 2 pence would be to make your own ebooks in PDF format...since its your hobby you can have record and ebooks dont get copied....even if they do credit still remains with you....you will keep doing research and indians will keep copy pasting your stuff and all your hardwork will keep going unacknowledged on world stage.
