I will start with my personal experience. Every time i go back home i find that the quality of Urdu has deteriorated so much so that now it sounds so ugly. People use alot of ugly bollywood gangsta words and also add alot of English words. So it isn't actually Urdu anymore just a mix of many different languages.

Just today i watched BBC Urdu and the presenter used proper Urdu and it sounded so beautiful. Even the level of professionalism was amazing. The emphasize was on the content being presented and not on gimmicks. When ever i watch Pakistani news channel my head starts to hurt by the loud background music and the yelling of the presenters that keep repeating themselves and the eye sore animations used.

Yea. Urdu these days is becoming less and less Persian, and more and more English.

For example.

Kitchen=bawarchikhana
Carpet=qaleen
Enjoy= mazza
Cup= kozeh
Bun= khob
blank Town= blank shehr

Most of these Urdu words are rarely used.

For me the use of bollywood gangsta words is the reason that i find it ugly nowadays. Like the words "aik patti" or "Khoka" or "tapka dena". i have also noticed people using alot of Hindi words in conversations.

By the way, if you don't mind me asking when was the last time you visited Pakistan. I want to find out the differences you have noticed in Pakistan; as in roads, language, development, etc.

You know what the problem is? Education has gone private and that ensures that there is not satisfactory quality control. I don't remember any one talking about education reforms or introducing news topics. There is a lot that needs to be fixed. Teachers need to be trained to point out grammar mistakes and fix them. Urdu is a beautiful language when spoke correctly.
