What's new

Lets ask the Burning questions

Pakistan is already in crucial time period. Plus, we get along with both of the countries and it wont be a good idea to go against one of them to favor the other state. Pakistan should not get involved in this matter or at least try to keep the relations healthy with both Turkey and Russian.
Pakistan comes first.

.
Pakistan is closer to Turkish people and nation , and we need to stand by the words and pledges.

Turkey has done nothing wrong by defending its position , and Turkey = Pakistan

We should have stock of 2,000 - 3,000 JF17 thunder engines , just in case for local and international sales perspective

However 500 is good short term need fill gap
Sir, can you please tell me what was the basis of you calculating that PAF needs 2,000 to 3,000 JF-17 engines?

Thank You

.
Future production needs, as we need 300-400 engines for our planes, and they all need spares , so that is like 800 engines , 1,000 would be ideal for war time needs or sales to other countries

PAF Present Need:
400 Engines
Mid life replacement 400 engines

+ Addition 500 Engines for new orders / 500 spare engines

No one would buy a plane with no Spare engine

We are not involved in ISIS war and have nothing to do in this war and are already fighting a war on terror in our country and in no manner not even 1 % chance is there that our JF program will be affected by this war

And in no manner it's a tough question

What do you mean we are not involved , our cities have ISIS chalking and people are pledging alliance to ISIS ? How is this not Pakistan's war

Do you think they need our troops to fight there war they hacve a very capable army and air force and a good navy as well as far as the isis concerned in our country ofcourse we will fight them but that does not mean we'll be going to Syria give logical answer this is no answer for Pakistan to take side we have good relations with both Turkey as well as Russia nor do we have any gain in fighting a war in Syria

.
You know me I ask the tough questions

So , with Russia , going up against Turkey , putting Pakistani interest at Stake as Pakistan is generally neutral with both countries.

How does the JF17 Thunder engine supplies come into questions , with Pakistan not being able to make a god damn engine locally

Russia obviously up against NATO , and now Turkey directly

Where does that puts the JF17 Thunder program how many engines have we ordered in stock via China?

Is the JF17 Thunder program under a risk due to its dependence on Russian Engine ?

What other power plant options we have , realistic replacements in next 1-2 Years
China / Pak ordered and recieved around 500 engines.

.
There are three different subjects here:

ISIS/Daesh: Certainly there is presence of ISIS supporters in Pakistan. I have seen wall chalking about ISIS/Daesh in Karachi.

Russia/Turkey dispute: This has nothing to do with Pakistan. To be fair, Russian aircraft posed no threat to Turkey. It was merely 17 seconds in the Turkish airspace which is actually jetting into Syria. Turkey could have shown more restraint. IMO Turkey was unhappy because the plane had been bombing Syrian rebels supported by Turkey.

JF-17 engines are for a JV between Pakistan & China with nothing whatsoever to do with Syria and or Turkey and hence worrying about it has no basis.

there was thread few days back saying half of Pakistani population doesn't know whats going on in Syria and Iraq and what is Daish. These are just fan boys doing stupid stuff i am sure they will get caught soon

.
Well I for one want action from our Government on Diplomatic front to show Alliance with Turkey , and clearly show we stand with Turkish people , and national defense purpose

I want solid measures from Leaders of our nations to act , not sit down and drink coffee , or tea but sit down debate and sign a National Defense pact with Turkey

Not fancy words but a solid , defense Pact announced internationally

a) Military
b) logistics
c) Special Ops
d) Special weapons

Most other things ...

For JF17 Thunders , we can get alternative

The engines
the other stuff is all replaceable

I just did not wanted to beat around the bush , what is happening to our JF17 thunder program now that Russia has gone

Rouge Nation

Considering that Pakistan is not at war with any nation how do we make sure we keep the supply lines open for Power plant for JF17 platform in short and long run

If we have 1,000 engines on order or stock that is great but otherwise what is the plan B

Obviously , since we are neutral nation we have good relations with all countries even Intolerable India but at some point we need to evaluate the risk due to Power plant purchasing

The military is quite , mellow on discussions about the issues

You are assuming that "Russia is gone" and basing al the argument on this assumption right?
The assumption is wrong!!

The Turkey-Russia tension wont have any direct effect on the JF-17 engine supplies and thus the JF-17 program will remain on its course. The assumption that Russian-Pakistan relations will go sore is a wrong one and thus all the argument based on that wont come to much good eventually.

.
The day we understand that national interests trump all other interests, we won't have to worry about anything from that day onwards.
We? I thought you were planning on leaving us.

Let's face it, Pakistanis are hopeless. You should renounce your Pakistani citizenship ASAP.

.
From strategic point of view maintaining close ties with Turkey is vital as a Nation for Pakistan.

So anyone stating that such relations are not important does not understand international diplomacy.
Turkey has been nation which we have trusted the most traditionally , together with China.

So its natural that when there is conflict in Turkey , our government should step up their diplomatic game.

Becasue no official word has emerged from our Government or Military , on the crisis and how they see relations with Turkey or Russia , and their natural stance

So risk to JF17 Thunder program is very real , as we do not have a replacement engines for the fighter jets

While its true Pakistan - Russian economic side has developed , so its important to maintain good ties with all nations

But at same time relations with Turkey are equally important

Why is good relations with Turkey vital for Pakistan ?
