Why is it important
Spanish:
In 1975 after the embarrassing departure of its last colony of Spain (Western Sahara), Morocco invaded the territory illegally and after 16 years of war against the Saharawi a ceasefire agreement was signed in 1991. During the War, Morocco built the PLANET'S GREATEST MILITARY WALL, it is the wall of shame, which divides the territory of the Saharawi Republic in two halves, a small, low power desert part of the Saharawi Republic and elsewhere largest Morocco rich and controlled. No country recognizes Morocco World sovereignty over that territory, however, GOOGLE MAPS, far to attend and comply with international law and UN resolutions, which have always qualified as an illegal occupant Morocco territory and demanded the departure of the same, as well as the International Court of Justice after consultation requested by Morocco in 1975 issued a resolution stating that THERE HAS EXISTED OR RELATIONSHIP SOVEREIGNTY Moroccan sultan on Sahrawi territory. By this reason and because it is unfair and illegal to cover this fait accompli status quo, we should launch this campaign GOOGLE MAP to modify your map and spread to Western Sahara from Morocco, they are two different countries.

Inglés: After the embarrasing depart of Spain from his last colony (Western Sahara) in 1975, at present Time This territory is the last colony in Africa. Before the celebration of independence referendum, Morocco invaded Western Sahara and the war Began Between Moroccan and Polisario soldiers, declaring ceasefire in 1991. During the War, Morocco built the GREATEST MILITARY WALL ON THE PLANET, called the Wall of Shame, que divide the territory of the Sahrawi Republic in two halves, a small, desertic part of the Saharawi Republic and another one bigger and richer in resources, controlled by Morocco. Both Sahrawi people live in parts, Moroccan and Polisario-controlled zone ocupated zone (and the biggest part who lives in the refugees camp in Tindouf, Algeria) Possibility to comunicate with no or meet together since then.

Nowadays no Country in the World Moroccan sovereignty over Recognize That territory. However, GOOGLE MAPS puts together like a Western Sahara Morocco's part, far from Complying with international law and UN resolutions, que Have Always Described as squatter territory and Morocco Demanded his departure thereof. As well, the International Court of Justice after consultation Requested by Morocco in 1975 issued a resolution Stating That Never Existed HAVE A RELATIONSHIP SOVEREIGNTY of the Moroccan sultanate on Sahrawi territory. That reason is for GOOGLE MAPS That We request to modify his map and Clearly Western Sahara separate from Morocco, Because According To international law, UN and International Court of Justice resolutions They are two different countries.

In response to a report calling for "dismantling the Polisario militia" and the "liberation of sequestered in Tindouf," whose timing is dictated by the current tour in the region of the Personal Envoy of the Secretary General of the UN Christopher Ross, and the preparation of the resolution of the Security Council next April, an Algerian diplomatic source told Algeriepatriotique that "this study is completely bidonnée" and that "not worth a penny." The report of the International Centre for Terrorism Studies (ICTS) under thethink tank American Potomac Institute for Policy Studies and presented Friday in Washington by its director, Yonah Alexander, at a conference at the National Press Club, believes that Tindouf camps "are a threat to regional security in being a fertile recruiting ground for terrorists and drug traffickers." "This is the work of Morocco's Kingdom licensed lobbyist which launched in 2010, the ridiculous t stillborn thesis of the alleged Polisario AQIM connection. It was relayed, by another French lobbyist, the hilarious and venal Charles Saint-Prot, "reveals our source."Everyone knows that Yonah Alexander is part of the small band of fake news makers - Holley, Gabriel, Abinader Pham and Zartman - whose salaries are paid by the Embassy of Morocco in Washington through its lobbying firm, the Moroccan American Center for Policy" reveals the Algerian diplomatic source who states that "the substantial contributions paid from the royal coffers, are available on the website of the U.S. Department of Justice ( Report of the Attorney General to the Congress of the United States on the Administration of the Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938 ). ""The credibility of this small group of condottieri of international relations is zero and their interested role, is to legitimize illegal occupation by Morocco territories of the people of Western Sahara", against hard cash. This handsomely paid non sense is irrelevant to the actual situation. France is a republic it that perfect item to arrogate to itself the right to act as a referee policies elegance?

Chirac has made us regret Mitterrand, and Sarkozy, Chirac. Holland would it now pass us off the nostalgia of yesteryear Sarkozyism? Nicolas Sarkozy was (still is) a cynical, coupled with a pro-Israeli Atlanticist; shame for a man who put his career under the auspices of the General. We knew (we always know), but at least we know what to expect. With François Hollande is a little different. The man is just as cynical, with the difference that in matters of domestic policy and foreign, he shows, despite the notable efforts of Laurent Fabius in the latter, an amateur as touching as persistent. So will he managed this feat which consisted this week, triggering a diplomatic crisis with the traditional ally is Morocco. This was premeditated, why not. But the problem is that all appear to come under the most complete improvisation. To be fair, the first nail in the coffin of the traditional Franco-Moroccan back to 2011 - is the reign of Sarkozy. At the UN, our ambassador Gerard Araud have said about Morocco: " It is a mistress with whom we sleep every night, which is n ' is not particularly love, but we must defend ... "Words not very graceful, indeed. And very stupid, as uttered before the Spanish actor Javier Bardem - the villain of the latest James Bond - who was just trying to make a documentary on the Western Sahara , Madrid former colony and is a bit Rabat what Alsace-Lorraine could be the Paris of the Third Republic. Words, finally, obviously contradicted by the Quai d'Orsay, but not forgotten by our " friends "Moroccans, and also not close to being given the new episode that follows. Last Thursday (27 February) for all arrange therefore, seven policemen were invited to the Moroccan embassy in Paris, meaning Abdellatif Hammouchi boss Moroccan against espionage, he was under multiple charges of torture even in Western Sahara, charges due the ACAT (Action by Christians for the Abolition of Torture). And, ignoring the traditional diplomatic channels, which are just there to avoid similar trouble. Obviously, Moroccans are furious, understandably. And penaudes French authorities, they complained. And we wish them a lot of fun especially in the decades to come. He must therefore take language with impeccable country's human rights? It could limit our diplomatic Address Book. Whatever one may think of Tibet, Ukraine or Western Sahara, these are stories purely internal matter to the nations concerned. That evokes, yes. We want to be both judge and party is another story ... Morocco is perhaps not a perfect monarchy and there is much to say about his role in drug trafficking and that, more problems , in support Islamism fighting during the civil war in Algeria. But France is a republic it that perfect item to arrogate to itself the right to act as a referee policies elegance? Beyond the historical and moral considerations, there is obviously political. Art in which François Hollande, just apprentice that is not likely, except miracle of the master. Whether let children play with the pot Confiote, why not, strictly speaking.Entrust their red button, army and diplomacy is another matter. One that blurs the Kingdom of Morocco with us is a beautiful illustration ...

Rabat, including Paris fails to calm anger, announced Wednesday, February 26 the suspension of his judicial cooperation with France.

Rabat is furious, Paris made the round back . A week after the outbreak of a rare diplomatic row between the two countries usually well-oiled relationship, tension has even increased a notch with a heavy retaliatory measures taken by Morocco. Embittered by complaints for complicity in torture against the boss of espionage against Moroccan and a request for a hearing conducted without diplomatic ways, Rabat announced Wednesday the suspension of its judicial cooperation with France. A potentially momentous decision consequences and surprised to Paris, wherethe most senior officials - President Francois Hollande chief diplomat Laurent Fabius through the Minister of Justice Christiane Taubira - strive for a week to "provide explanations" of "dispel misunderstandings", and continue to ensure the flap "constant friendship" Franco-Moroccan. Vain. "The French government has not complied with the legal agreements it has with the Moroccan government" and Rabat "has not yet received a full explanation of what happened," reiterated Thursday, government spokesman Moroccan Mustapha Elkhalfi.

"The atomic bomb to kill a fly"Everything is part of the half-dozen police raid on February 20 at the residence of the Ambassador of Morocco in the upscale suburb of Neuilly-sur-Seine.These came notify the owner of espionage against Abdellatif Hammouchi a request for a hearing of the French court, which acts under the principle of universal jurisdiction. Abdellatif Hammouchi been several complaints by NGOs defending victims of torture, two Franco-Moroccan. If one concedes to Paris "blunders and shortcomings" in the way was served his request for a hearing to Abdellatif Hammouchi, however some are surprised with a "hysterical" reaction. Anyway, the decision Moroccan suspend "totally disproportionate" judicial cooperation, according to Pierre Breham, one of the plaintiffs' lawyers, could have serious consequences for civilian thousands of Franco-Moroccan. "For example, no more marriage or filiation can be executed in both countries. And criminal level, this means that you can not make extradition requests, hearings of witnesses, or transfers, "says the lawyer. "Morocco has really used the atomic bomb to kill a fly," he is surprised.

"There are more protective"Why such a reaction? For a specialist Morocco speaking on condition of anonymity, "some senior Moroccan officers themselves likely to be targeted by the French justice, lived in a dramatic way the fact that you can go and deliver a call at the residence of the ambassador. This means that there is more protection. "Meanwhile, Helen Legeay responsible Maghreb ACAT (Action by Christians against Torture, the NGO behind complaints), said that" preventing the transfer of sentenced prisoners in French Morocco, the authorities Moroccan seek to prevent complaints of torture upon their arrival in France . " The tension is exacerbated for geostrategic and political reasons, with the approach in April, the annual renewal of the mandate of MINURSO, the mission of the 'UN in Western Sahara, sacred cause for Rabat. Western Sahara is controlled by Morocco former Spanish colony, but claimed by the separatist Polisario supported by Algeria, the great rival of the Alawite kingdom. Last year, the willingness of the U.S. to include a "human rights" component in the mandate of MINURSO had provoked the wrath of Rabat and forced Washington to retreat, especially under the pressure of other Western countries , France in mind. Paris has traditionally supported the UN's position Rabat, which offers a wide autonomy for the Western Sahara, while the Polisario request a referendum on self-determination. But snide remarks on this subject attributed to a French diplomat by Spanish actor Javier Bardem, a staunch defender of the Saharawi cause and bane of Rabat, have further fueled the tension in recent days.Morocco is a "mistress with whom we sleep every night, which is not particularly love, but we must defend," reportedly said, in 2011, the Permanent Representative of France to the UN Javier Bardem . Paris has categorically denied, but failed to calm the ire of Rabat.

Andalusi Knight is delusional. Even the world court didn't give them the right to it, nor their protectors, ie France, the US and spain recognize as theirs. When you have time go the thread since information abound on the Sahara matters and you can make your own conclusion. Thank you for visiting the thread and your contribution is more than welcomed.
Algeria has no claim on the territory and made it plainly clear. If she had, we wont have this thread or discussion, it will be just a past history!

The RASD holds a meeting in Boumerdes Algeria. Several speakers took part in a crowded arena.

Nairobi — "Morocco has drowned the region in drugs and funded the terrorist groups" confirmed the head of the Sahrawi delegation, Ibrahim Mohamed Mahmud, secretary of state for security and documentation, during the 11th Congress of the African Committee for Security and Intelligence, in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Secretary of State for Security and Documentation considered in his intervention during the Congress that the Moroccan occupation to a great part of an African country represents threat to peace and security in the region.

The Sahrawi official stressed that any mechanism for encountering terrorism requires cooperation between various countries in the region to fight drug smuggling groups.

The Sahrawi delegation held meetings with most of the delegations participating in the Congress marked by the readiness to cooperate in diverse relevant fields.

Casablanca — A delegation of the occupied Sahrawi territories was blocked by the Moroccan police upon its arrival at the airport in Casablanca, upon its return from Algeria, according to official sources.

The delegation took part in the work of the summer university of the Polisario Front and SADR officials, held in Boumerdes, Algeria, from 3 to 23 August 2014, under the name of Gdeim Izik.

The delegation members were mistreated, their papers and personal belongings were confiscated by the Moroccan police, and they were prevented from using the toilet or recharging the phone batteries, said the source.

Algiers — Morocco's sovereignty in Western Sahara is recognized by no state, said Tuesday in Algiers the Secretary General of the Union of Saharawi Workers Mohamed Cheikh Lahbib.

"Morocco's sovereignty on Western Sahara is recognized by no state. Morocco seeks to get a foothold in the Sahel and borders in the region," the Sahrawi official said at El-Moudjahid forum, underlining Morocco's "expansionist" policy.

A policy which, he said, represents a danger to Maghreb's stability but also the Sahel, regarding Morocco's ambitions.

Lahbib recalled, in this context, the Moroccan secret services' contribution to the creation of the Movement for Unity and Jihad in Western Africa, author of the recent abduction of western expatriates in the Sahrawi refugee camps of Tindouf (Southeast of Algeria).

He said that Morocco is trying to "flood" the region's population with cannabis, of which it is considered as the world's major provider with up to 82%, noting the conjunction of this traffic with organized crime.

El Aaiun (Occupied Teritories), September 1, 2014 (SPS) - The Moroccan authorities prevented Saturday a Spanish delegation from entering the occupied city of El Aaiun, Western Sahara.

The delegation which consisted personalities representing the associations of solidarity with the Sahrawi people in Castilla y Leon, was led by the mayor of Zamora, Miss Rosa Valdion, from the Popular Party, reported the Spanish media europa press.

The delegation announced that their visit aims at “finding out about the situation of the Sahrawi people and establishing cooperation, social and humanitarian relationship with it.”

The mayor of Zamora condemned the act saying that “the expulsion is not justified (…) and can only be interpreted that Morocco do not want witnesses to what the Sahrawi people are subjected to in colonized territories.” (SPS)

Western Sahara: Why Africa’s last colony can’t break free
In global politics, playing by the rules doesn’t always help.
By Jenn Abelson

Western Sahara, near the Mauritanian border.

LAAYOUNE, WESTERN SAHARA — On a recent Saturday in May, as dusk shaded into night in this desert city, more than a thousand women, men, and children poured into the streets. They chanted slogans for independence; flashed the peace sign to show their support for the Polisario Front; and waved the illegal red, green, and black flag of a nation that may never exist.

For anyone who isn’t a geography buff, it’s likely that the Polisario Front, and perhaps even Western Sahara, are unfamiliar names. A former Spanish colony now annexed and ruled by neighboring Morocco, this territory has been waiting four decades for a shot at independence it was promised but never received. After a half-century of global decolonization that has produced about 80 new nations throughout the world, Western Sahara is now by far the largest piece of land remaining on the United Nations’ list of “non-self-governing territories,” places it considers to have an unfulfilled right to decide their own futures.

Video: Timeline of African nations achieving statehood
In part because their campaign has been a civil one, it has unfolded almost totally outside the world’s sphere of attention. Elsewhere on the continent, civil war has split Sudan into two countries; self-immolation and riots have brought regime change across North Africa. Here, meanwhile, even though the UN, the United States, and most other powerful nations have never recognized Morocco’s sovereignty over the area, the independence movement has been unable to make headway.

Today, the Sahrawis are becoming increasingly frustrated, and politics are making the prospects of independence more distant, if anything. The Moroccan government has shown no sign of loosening its grip. Officials worry about Islamic militants fomenting violence, given Polisario’s backing by rival Algeria; furthermore, Morocco relies on the territory’s fisheries and phosphate mines, and has begun exploring for oil. Its allies in the West, including the United States, prize Morocco as a stable ally in a volatile region, and aren’t moving to force its hand.

The stalemate here in Africa’s last remaining colony, and the willingness to let it simmer as the world focuses on deadlier conflicts in nearby Mali and Syria, raise the uncomfortable question of whether a peaceful breakup of nations is really possible—even when the process, officially speaking, enjoys the full support of the UN. Western Sahara is emerging as a case study on the limits of the international community’s power to help a people win self-determination when they choose not to be violent, but to follow the rules.

Moroccans participating in “The Green March” in 1975, when the king of Morocco called on 300,000 civilians to stake Western Sahara as their own.

“It doesn’t make sense. Why are just the Sahrawis left behind? Why are we not being helped by the international community?” Lahbib Salhi, 63, a Sahrawi activist, said in a recent interview in Laayoune. “Most other countries got independence. Look at Namibia, Mozambique...look at Bosnia and Kosovo even South Sudan. But why are the Sahrawis left behind?

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan (L) with his Moroccan counterpart Abdelilah Benkirane. Erdogan praised Moroccans for their transition to democracy, and called for more economic cooperation and balanced trade between the two countries. Arabs Today

ArabsToday, by Redouane Mabchour (Rabat, Morocco, June 5, 2013) — Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has voiced support for UN supervised talks to resolve the Western Sahara conflict, confirming that Turkey doesn’t recognise the Polisario Front movement.

Speaking during a joint press conference with his Moroccan counterpart Abdelilah Benkirane in Rabat, Erdogan claimed that an improvement in Algerian-Moroccan relations would aid resolution of the Western Sahara conflict, hinting at his country’s plans to mediate peace talks between the two countries.

The Turkish prime minister praised the people of Morocco for their transition to democracy, terming recent elections as “Morocco’s Arab spring.”

He argued that Morocco’s democratic model could serve as a glowing example for emerging countries in the region.

Erdogan mentioned economic cooperation with Morocco several times throughout his speech, and called for “balanced” trade between the two countries. He also urged Benkirane’s government to simplify the methods of investment for Turkish entrepreneurs looking to invest in Morocco.

The senior Turkish politician disclosed that his 300-member delegation includes 115 businesspeople, adding that they are from 85 different Turkish companies generating between $45 billion a year.

Erdogan confirmed that Morocco’s King Mohammed VI will visit Turkey by the end of 2013, to consolidate Turkish-Moroccan relations, and encourage the development of trade.

Meanwhile, Moroccan PM Benkirane has apologised to Moroccan Employers’ Federation for the state failure to consult them before Erdogan’s visit, after the federation announced it would boycott the meeting between Moroccan and Turkish businesspeople.

Benkirane said the trade union had every right to feel aggrieved at not being consulted during preparation for the Turkish’s delegation’s visit, and described the federation as “a partner of the government in economic development.”
