The whole conspiracy theory is based on a rediculous report that some intelligence goof saw men in Pakistan cliff climbing and swimming...and he/she went on toassume that they are plotting to blow up a dam....Unless they are spidermen,they cant scale 250 meter high walls of the saiid dam with tons of explossive...Anything less than a ton will barely scratch the dam....

Spot on!! Do these IB imbeciles even know what it would take for breaching a massive structure like the Bhakra dam? Damn! This is the competence of our int agencies. Like these terrorists are just gonna walk in through the border carrying a few tons of RDX on mules or manpack (for which they would require an entire company to carry it), load it into trucks, drive along the national highway, unload it on the dam under the noses of the ITBP and Punjab commandos, press the red button and ....KABOOOM!!

And aren't these terror bozos aware that the Bhakra is on the Sutlej which flows into Pakistan? If the dam is breached, what would happen to the Eastern parts of Pakistan? Millions would be left homeless in the deluge, crops in Pakistan would be destroyed and chaos would reign! Do the terrorists want this to happen?

In other words, this report just sucks! Sensationalism at it best!!

all i know that the Brits sent 42 crew men on half a dozen lancaster heavy bombers with purpose built bombs and months of practice and only then they were able to blast the german dams....
there is a difference between cracking an egg and blasting a dam....unfortunately most people here dont know the difference.

I don't know how Indians have built their dams which are so easy to crack but can bear the pressure of water, As far i have seen Mangla Dam - There is tons of stones inner side.

Terrorist operations are all about making a point, destruction of life and property being the added bonus. They may not destroy the dam, but they will successfully make the point that they can hit wherever they can at the time of their choosing causing wide spread panic.

What did it took to breach Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi and others in a span of 5-6 years? You insist that we can safely leave the dam unattended despite the report?

yup......such as drilling holes in the dam wall and then stufging the holes with tons of explosives.then rigging the detonation wiring and fuses...and working out the precise timings of each battery to go.off as simultaneous detknation may cancel each other...or peel a chunk of the dam wall instead of demolishing it.

There are many ways to damage a Dam like flying a fully laden Cargo jet into a Dam,opening the Floodgates by infiltrating.
Also there is no need to damage the Dam,even a minor attack would gather major Media attention.
