RIP Lata Mangeshkar. We were privileged to have seen such a talent in our times. To me, Lata, Mehdi Hassan and Madam Noor Jehan were the living legends of the Subcontinent.
PS. Only today I learned that Asha Bhonsle is Lata's younger sister! Asha is a truly great singer herself!
There are other 2 singer sisters as well, but lesser known: Meena Mangeshkar and Usha Mangeshkar. A whole family of blessed singers. But, of course, Lata and Asha are extraordinary.
Majority of India must be dead to you then?Lata Mangueshkar died for me when I learned she was an Islamophobe.
Majority of India must be dead to you then?
Pretty much....sadly
Bhai jaan, itna ghusa acha nahin hota, but your country, you choices. You guys shall always have my blessings, whatever value they may hold.
she would not have been as famous as she turned out to be in this case...The unfinished love story of Lata Mangeshkar and Ustad Salamat Ali Khan
This is an another tragic love story, about how Lata was willing to leave everything for her Pakistani lover, and move to Pakistan, but Ustad Salamat refused her because he did not want to take Lata away from the people of India, in his opinion, it would have hurt the Indian nation far too deeply.
This is an amazing story about a true classy Pakistani, Ustad Salamat Ali Khan.
What would have happened, if Lata had become a Pakistani?
In rightly mentioning the great iconic singers of that particular era, you ommited to mention the greatest of them all.RIP Lata Mangeshkar. We were privileged to have seen such a talent in our times. To me, Lata, Mehdi Hassan and Madam Noor Jehan were the living legends of the Subcontinent.
