Kuwait contemplating the possibility of acquiring THAAD system

Kuwait Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Abdullah Al-Foudri confirmed that the Air Force is seeking to buy the modern THAD system for Gulf defense, which is considered a step towards the Gulf linkage within the missile shield system, so that the Gulf air defense systems are similar and easy to connect with.

Al-Fudri said in an interview with Al-Rai on the sidelines of the Kuwait Air Force conference that the Gulf missile shield is not new and that the current step is based on each country setting its own air defense system and then linking and consolidating defense systems to cover the skies of the GCC countries. Two GCC states possess new and modern air defense systems called Thaad. The two countries have been linked due to the similarity of these two systems. The remaining Gulf states, including Kuwait, are seeking to acquire them as they are the latest in the world and the most advanced.
