Korean Railway to operate trains in Punjab

But ignoring that part of the discussion, at an objective level, while I am sure you like the locomotives made in India, most impartial observers would deem South Korean products to be superior, more reliable and more advanced.

Its not about me liking Indian Locomotives. Most of Indian Locos are from the US. Like the one in the pic I posted is actually a GE loco manufactured in India (EMD GT46PAC). I am a Train enthusiast and let me tell you this is among the best. I'm sure the Korean ones are very good too but I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion that they are superior.

India already exports Locos to the following countries
Germany, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Mali, Senegal, Sudan Tanzania, Angola and Vietnam

You know as well as everyone else that deals like these can't happen until the sword(s) of damocles hanging over our collective heads are not addressed first.

But ignoring that part of the discussion, at an objective level, while I am sure you like the locomotives made in India, most impartial observers would deem South Korean products to be superior, more reliable and more advanced. Also, if you read the article, this is not just about buying the engines, it is a BoT style deal where the supplier takes the responsibility of operations also. Once again, I think by most impartial standards, South Korean rail transport operations are far superior to those in India.

I've been keenly following Pak Railways modernization programs and I think this is a great first step. I would hope that they complete their evaluation of this initial engagement quickly so that the modernization effort can be further expanded.

Dude, keeping aside India-Pakistan rivalry I have to say that India has much more experiences than Korea in designing and operating locomotives in subcontinental humid and hot condition.

If every adversaries can do business why can't we? I think India and Pakistan sometimes buy and sell food grains when needed, then what problem with other things?

Its really sad to see that India has the exact thing that Pakistan Railways wanted, WAP7. And Indian railways are operating it for many years.

Why are threads always derailed by indians? No one cares about indian trains, this is about Korean railways operating in Punjab, not india
