Nah but I agree with them here actually, no one deserves to be stabbed over something so trivial as kissing.

Stabbing is a part of Turkish culture.

I don't know if it's illegal now, but back not long ago you could stab someone in Turkey and the cops wouldn't arrest you as long as you didn't try to kill them.

ie: You could stab a guy in the leg and a cop would not arrest you.



That's why my first post on the thread was, Never trust a Turk with a knife.

Religion in general is a very quick path to ignorance and a nations downfall. I don't hate Islam no more than I would a virus. Religion in general to me is like the HIV virus. I don't hate the virus per se - it just does its thing, but the host is sure as hell a goner. Big religion in a country = HIV in a person. Sadly the host is beloved Turkiye, and Erdogan is the **** swinging cowboy running around having unprotected intercourse on Turkiyes account.

Turkey is not my country, but for me it is a brother country.


That's why I only comment on Turkish threads.

Not Arab or Iranian even though they are Muslims.

Personally, I think kissing in public is impolite and it's probably a cultural thing.

If I bring my kids on the train and want them to be religious and pious, I don't want them witnessing making out of other people just because they are in the heat of the moment.

Perhaps I should have stated it more clearly - I dont feel the need to impose on anybody's desire to worship their faith. What I don't want to see is government force principles of faith on people.

I certainly believe in god, but not from a spin-off that man has put on it (Islam, Christian etc...). Thats my choice. You can believe however you please, as can anyone else. Being upset that two people who have feelings for each other are expressing it in public in a non-pornographic manner is entirely none of anybody's business, and they have no right to try and intervene based on principles of their religion. That kind of behaviour by hyper-religious people is the virus I speak of.

But what you are failing to see is the reverse. Thats fine if you dont want your children to see it - I totally get where you are coming from. But what about an Athiest? What if they see the big Islam beard, or the hijab, and they think it is a backwards process? Do they have a right to tell the man to shave and the woman to loosen up?

Neither side should be able to tell the other side what to do. The parents of that child (in your case, you) should educate the child on the manner, and move on. Sheltering leads to lack of education. Lack of education leads to......?

And some Pakistanis in here still wonder why we don't like Erdogan, its things like this: telling people not to kiss in the metro. Hopefully there were some gay couples too, that will give those Islamists nightmares for weeks.

There is a non-Islamic reason to ban such PDA too... A public space has kids as well, and if the kiss is not just a peck and goes into some make out session - you are subjecting children to it as well.

How it works in Dubai is that there is an official ban on kissing in public, but as long as its a small 1 sec. kiss the authorities don't move in on you.

Because when it comes to law making, you cannot define the law like "This is the level of passion allowed in public kissing". Everyone will have a different understanding of what a passionate kiss is supposed to be.
