You think starving troops are going to care why they are starving?
Whether they care or not, what they will and will not do, that is for no one other than themselves to decide.
You would think starvation is the ovious sign of maltreatment by the regime.
could it not be caused by the tightening of sanctions or natural disasters?
So you missed the news that Putin's daughter had been dating a Korean man for 10 years since 14.
Yes, a retired South Korean admiral. That doesn't mean Putin's personal history doesn't affect the way he behaves. From what we all know, he doesn't get along with the west so well and his daughter's marrage to a retired admiral is unlikely to change that and his country's policies.
There is nothing China can do. Sending in PLA troops into NK means an all out war, and many of those troops will not be able to come home, as they are marching into a territory without an air cover. You know what happens to an army without air cover in a modern warfare.
We have seen and witnessed it happen. However, today's China is not the China of the 50's and setting foot to the ground will likely not be seen first on the list of actions. Moreover, America will find it hard to set foot on the ground or match PLA and DPRK in terms of numbers.
Doing something means an all out war and the Yellow Sea turns into a war zone. Now imagine what that would do to China's economy.
also what it would do to the rest of the worlds economy including America's already over stretched economy.
Doing nothing is the best solution for China.
Doing nothing is also the best solution for America.
The US will. The Futenma Marines' job is to move in first and secure NK's nuclear weapons. That's the no. 1 priority for the US military. So do not assume that the US and ROK troops will not move in. They will at the first sign of NK revolt and civil war.
That is your own assumption and yet to be witnessed let alone be believed.
Now what will be China's choice? Just watch and let the war be over in 1 week? Or jump in and lose hundreds of thousands of troops and turn the whole Yellow Sea into a war zone?
Win the war in 1 week? I heard something similar before. Oh yes... "we will be back by Christmas". I wouldn't jump into any silly mindless conclusion my friend. If America is really as capable as you make it, then North Korea would not have been left alone to threaten the region for so many years. America would have made Iraq, Afghanistan or Libya out of them by now.
