On 21 March 2023, during an encounter with the hard core terrorists in general area Angoor Adda, South Waziristan, intense fire was exchanged. Brigadier Mustafa Kamal Barki from Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), while leading the encounter from the front, embraced Shahadat while 7 x members got injured (including 2 critically wounded).
Brigadier Barki and his team put up a valiant resistance against the terrorists during the encounter and the officer sacrificed his life for peace of the motherland.
Defence Forces of Pakistan and Intelligence Agencies pledge to reaffirm and demonstrate firm resolve to eliminate the menace of terrorism from every inch of the country.

PESHAWAR: One hundred and twenty-five police personnel embraced martyrdom and 212 others sustained injuries in different militant attacks across the province during the first quarter of 2023. A total of 25 cases of militant attacks have been registered with the police during the three months, police data shows.

According to the data, 15 militant attacks were reported against police in January 2023, in which 116 personnel embraced martyrdom and 189 were injured.

Three militant attacks were reported in February 2023, in which two police personnel embraced martyrdom and five others were wounded.

Seven cases were registered by the police in March 2023, wherein seven policemen embraced martyrdom and 18 others were wounded.

Meanwhile, a senior police official told Dawn that following a surge in attacks on the police in January after the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) called off the ceasefire, the police were equipped with latest weaponry, leading to reduction in the number of attacks in February and March.

“There were fewer attacks reported in February and March,” the police official said, adding the force was carrying out intelligence-based operations and hunting down the militants.

Of the 125 personnel, who embraced martyrdom during last three months, 84 personnel, including officers, laid down their lives on January 30 alone when a suicide bomber blew himself up inside a mosque at Peshawar’s police headquarters.

On November 28, 2022, the banned TTP had called off the ceasefire agreed with the government in June 2022, and ordered its militants to stage attacks across the country.

Security forces kill eight terrorists in South Waziristan IBO

Eight terrorists have been killed in an intelligence based operation in Shinwarsak, South Waziristan District.
During intense exchange of fire, Sepoy Hamid Rasool (age 31 years, resident of District Rawalpindi) embraced shahadat while another four personnel including two officers were injured.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists.
The killed terrorists remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and killing of innocent citizens.
Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.

Two soldiers martyred in Khyber IED blast​

At least two soldiers of Pakistan Army were martyred when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded on a vehicle of security forces in general area Bara of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Khyber District on Saturday, the military said.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Naib Subedar Hazrat Gul, a 37-year-old resident of Lower Dir, and Sepoy Nazir Ullah Mehsud, a34-year-old resident of South Waziristan, embraced Shahadat in the explosion.

Sanitisation of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists in the area, the ISPR added.

“Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” the military’s media wing further said.

On Wednesday, a Pakistan Army soldier embraced martyrdom in an exhcnage of fire with terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Shinwarsak area of South Waziristan district.

According to ISPR, the operation resulted in intense exchange of fire between the troops and terrorists. It said the troops successfully targeted and neutralised the terrorists' location, sending eight terrorists, including terrorist commander Jan Muhammad alias Chargh, to their demise.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed terrorists, the military's media wing added.

It said that the terrorists who were killed were actively involved in terrorism activities against security forces and killing of innocent citizens.

On 08th April 2023, fire exchange took place between our troops and terrorists in area of Razmak, North Waziristan District.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorist. In another fierce encounter between our troops and terrorists in area of Karama, South Waziristan District, our troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, killing one terrorist.
However, during intense exchange of fire, Naik Fazal Janan (age 32 years, resident of District Hangu) having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat. Sanitisation of the area is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.

During conduct of the operation, fierce fire exchange took place between own troops and terrorists. Resultantly, all three terrorists were sent to hell.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists.

Security Forces conducted an operation in Nurur on credible intelligence of Presence of HVT Commander Ilyas alias Bilal along with other terrorists of Banned Organization Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan.

Security forces kill two terrorists in North, South Waziristan

April 09, 2023

Two terrorists were killed in intense exchange of fire with the security forces in two different incidents of terrorism yesterday.
According to ISPR, fire exchange took place between own troops and terrorists in Razmak area of North Waziristan District killing one of the militants. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorist.
In another fierce encounter between own troops and terrorists in Karama area of South Waziristan, own troops effectively engaged terrorists’ location, killing one terrorist.
However, during intense exchange of fire, Naik Fazal Janan having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom.
Sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.

Infiltration attempt from Pak-Afghan border foiled TTP terrorists (Afghan Citizens) tried to infiltrate from Pak-Afghan border area adjacent to Bajaur. Which was thwarted by the security forces.

One terrorist was killed in the exchange of fire. While one wounded terrorist was arrested. However, one terrorist escaped back to Afghanistan with injuries. Modern American weapons recovered from the possession of terrorists.

These new generation of terrorists / Afghan citizens were specially trained for terrorism in Pakistan. The Afghan Interim Government will have to find a permanent solution to this problem.
