Khilafat Movement (1919-1924),Inseparable Bonds Between Pakistan and Turkey

Religion is something that unites us and makes ua above all other things like colour, race, ethnicity.
If u search for an identity as a race or ethnicity, u will keep dividing and u will keep hating and comparing each other. Once u go down that path, there is no limit. One can argue to be pakistani, then they will further be searching for identity and come up with oashtun or punjabi, then will come northern or southern, then will come khattak or yoisafzai..this keeps on going...
Its Islam that only unotes us, its Islam that unites me to a nigerian who has nothing in common with me but when we meet in a foreign land and do salam, it makes us feel as we belong from one family. The happiness when we find a muslim in a place least expected, the bond we share as a common belief. No theory and no logic have ever combined humans like religion and Islam takes it further.

In geopolitics, it has failed to unite us. We are Pakistanis and we have our identity if we look even as far as mughals.

The Mughals were Turkic, originating from the Turkestan lands.(below map is from the USSR era).

It was a wrong movement by Indian and Bengali Muslims. They didnt achieve anything by this. That movement had put Gandhi on a highest position that he could ever imagine. Muslims of India/BD should have cooperated with the British for 50 more years to acquire education and technology from them and finally depart their own ways. It would be nice to hear any Pakistani origin leaders actually took part in that movement.

The Khilafat movement was a very important event in the political history of India. The Muslims of India had a great regard for the Khilafat (Caliphate) which was held by the Ottoman Empire.

During World War I, the Ottoman Empire (Turkey) joined the war in alliance with Germany. But Turkey and Germany lost the war and a pact commonly known as Istanbul Accord was concluded between the Allied Forces on 3rd November 1918. According to this Pact the territories of Turkey were to be divided among France, Greece and Britain.

During the war the Indian Muslims were in a very awkward position, because they had a deep-rooted devotion to the caliphate. They had profound respect for this holy institution. Therefore, their support to the British Government was subject to the safeguard and protection of the holy places of Turkey and on the condition that Turkey will not to be deprived of its territories. But the British Government could not fulfill both of these promises. The Treaty of Sevres 1920 was imposed on Turkey and its territories like Samarna, Thrace and Anatolia were wrested from it and distributed among European countries. A wave of anger swept across the Muslim World and the Indian Muslims rose against the British Government.

Muslim leaders like Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad, Moulana Muhammad Ali Johar, Moulana Shoukat Ali and others reacted against the British Government policy and were put behind the bars.

Muslims organized a mass movement, which came to be known as Khilafat Movement. The aims of this movement were

(a) To protect the Holy place of Turkey

(b) To restore the Territories of Turkey

(c) To restore the Ottoman Empire.

The Khilafat Movement created political consciousness among the Indian Muslims, which inspired them to constitute another movement for their Independence. Thus, they started the Pakistan Movement. After our independence we carried forward the sentiments of our ancestors. Pakistan-Turk relationship commenced soon after the independence of Pakistan. March 4, 1948 at the appointment of first Turkish ambassador, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah stated, “I really can assure your excellence that the Muslims of Pakistan will entertain sentiments of affection and esteem for your country and now Turkey and Pakistan both as free, sovereign and independent countries can strengthen their ties more and more for the good of both.”
The current status of Pakistan and Turkey relationship can easily be narrated by the words of current President of Turkey, Raceb Tayyab Erdogan. He termed Pakistan as, Home, away from home.” (Erdogan is the only foreign leader who has addressed Pakistani Parliament more than once.)
A quote from a Pakistani who visited Turkey, “Being a Pakistani, I never felt home anywhere in the world other than Turkey.”

Khilafat movement was the real reason why brits divided India, and killed the strength of Indian Muslims.

Not very fond memories of it in South India. Especially after Mapilla Lahala.

Mapilla Lahala
The Malabar Rebellion (also known as the Māppila Lahaḷa) was an armed uprising in 1921 against British authority in the Malabar region of Southern India by tenants and the culmination of a series of Mappila revolts that recurred throughout the 19th century and early 20th century. The 1921 riot began as a reaction against landlords and British a heavy-handed crackdown on the Khilafat Movement a campaign in defense of the Ottoman Caliphate.

Reportedly, 6 to 7 states are facing protests.
But it was against muslims.

But RSS will not stop here. They will do something against others as well, and that will be moqa.

He was not wrong, Last Caliphs were corrupts and falls to the sin and lust , Kemal has a choice keep the Caliph with no power or authority and lose the state and countless Muslims, or abolish the useless Caliphate and bring a new model of a State . Actually he saved, Turkey and Islam in the Turkey . If Brits took over than today the Turks would be either slaves, 3rd grades subjects of Empire like Indian Hinuds/Muslims ,or their land would be divided and given to various settlers from EU .

The main problem in WW1, it was a match of old styled Calephat and new style ruling system. The new ruling western system was offering too much to everyone(and was taking too much from everyone too, and still the same till now in 2019).
But these new rulers were more corrupt. Way more corrupt than bechara Mughals or Usmanis.
So the real reason why Islam in general and Usmanis in particular lost against modern western civilization was an organizational issue, rather then a problem with morals or personal behavior.
The day muslims figured that out will be the day when Islam will be a kicking force rather than a force that is being kicked (and on regular basis).
So the elders of Islam must take some action on that. Or jab action hoga tu maza boht aaeyga. @FOOLS_NIGHTMARE

Clearly u have no idea what ur talking about. Mughals were afghans and came from kabul, how can u paint it as a Pakistani identity? Most of mughal offspring live in india so how is it a Pakistani identity??? Also u dont know but most of the pashtun and other tribes fought with mughals and were seen as outside invaders.
Its not failure of Islam to not unite us, its our own failure in being a true muslim. Its dumb to blame our own incompetency and greed on Islam. It was the same Islam that gave identity to desert ppl and made them a force. It was the same Islam that enabled muslims to rule from east to west and laid foundations of science and literature. Now that ur incompetent, greedy and corrupt and u fall behind the world u want to blame it on Islam and want to wear clothes of nationality without any base?
As i said before nationality goes towards racism and races keep dividing u. Race and nationality may seem to unify u but in reality it divides u, and this division even reaches to street and muhalla level.

The Morality is already in decline , brother killing brother for power , Harem full of women , internal politics , conspiracies against the Caliphs , lack of equally matching military power and allies .. its not just leadership but all these factors play their part in their downfall .
Reviving the Caliphate is close to impossible cause the divide in Islamic countries is just broad, west get along because they unite under few things despite their cultural , language difference . We have religion to unite under but even that is divided .

Its even easier to not Quote me :)
