Except that it actually isn't ...Belarus has a 6.7k $ per capita nominal (the one who really counts not the PPP fairy tale you like to spin) and Romania has 9.5k ....that's some difference there chief. Not to mention double the population and the fact that Belarus has multiple haircuts on its debt by Russia while Romania actually pays its debts which is a sign of a functioning economy.
And altough Romania is 40%+ Belarus per capita (and a troll like you says they're doing better) let's see what the future brings.......oh...2013 growth ...0.9 for Belarus,3.5 for Romania.......lay of the vodka "tovaras"
Oh,btw at 0.9 growth Belarus has 18% inflation in 2013......do the math genius.
It's not even about fleeing. They're next door neighbours with Germany which has 4-5 times bigger wages...So,a pole living in western Poland can hop in car ,make a 1h road to a job in Germany and earn 4 times as much than in his country...decisions,decisions..............And talknig about decisions, why isn't @senheiser leaving Germany and living the good life in Russia ?
only gdp per capita in PPP counts especially for per capita. Belarus has various products they make available cheaper while their currency is lower valued thats all there is.
Report for Selected Countries and Subjects
Belarus has no debt whats so ever and paid everything back and have lower debt than roman and guess what an unemploymentrate of 0.6% while you have 7% which is similiar to the USA and despite that massive people flee your country to the EU for searching jobs.
And IMf says belarus nominal gdp per capita will be 7.5k $ vs Romanias 8.9k $ in 2013
which is hilarious because Belarus literally printed money and devalued their currency at Zimbabwean level in 2011
yet belarus in view years is able to soon surpass you and didnt slowed any way in nominal valued in 2012, while you never in fact managed to get your nominal level back at 2008 level while belarus increased thats the difference my friend. So this means basically hyper inflation does less damage to your economy than being romanian
And even HDI approves

i cant even speak russian and grew all my life in germany, i am just on the internet to defend russia because i love this country so much, its superior to the west and every one should obey it like i do.
You love this country so much that you couldn't even be bothered to learn the language even though in this day and age you could even do it with online lessons ,not to mention tutors for such a russkie patriot as you.At least you've learned English, the language of your Nemesis...---another +1 for team America, they've got you globalised like a sardine.
1.On the HDI the difference is minimum.
2.The unemployement figures in Belarus are wishfull thinking at best-it's a dictatorship, everything comes with a truckload of salt.I personally know a Belarusian girl married to a friend of mine which, btw, visited the country (he said it looked like Romania in the 90's and she said Bucharest it's Paris next to Minsk)
3.Do the math, between the IMF,World Bank,Romanian Goverment statistics the GDP stands at between 186-192......even at 186,divide this by 20.12 million citizens and you still get 9.3k per capita...simple math.
4.I'm a nationalist but i'm not dumb...Romania is ruled by incompetent thieves.....you're comparing the "best" of the Eurasian Union -Belarus,Russia's next door neighbour and pet country-with,let's be honest ,the worst of the EU,and one of the most corrupt, run by incompetents Eastern members of the EU...And we still come on top, even marginally.-take the Czech Republic as a reference....
5.No...on the projected future Belarus won't surpass us,in fact it will fall behind more and more, just look at the projections for this year and so on......btw we have a 2.5 % projection this year ( which is best case scenario for Bel,most put it at 1.5) but we had 3.2 growth for the 1st quarter, last year we had a 1.6 for the 1st quarter and ended the year on 3.5.

This actually tells you where they're heading and how superficially they're staying afloat.Well,it does not tell you per say,but to a minimum rational person. This goes for how they "keep people employed"...sort of a backwards medieval economy which pays its people on "fruits of the land",except that Russia has a play in this in the form that it keeps them afloat but dependent on the same time.

The main objective of the West - to prevent strengthening of Russia . They do not care , Communist Russia , capitalist or theocratic . It's not in the socio- economic structure. It is in Russia . In the West, still well remember the days when they could not with impunity rob, kill, destroy entire states . Imagine if unhappy Gaddafi or Saddam Hussein used the ill-fated support of the USSR ? Most likely , the Americans do not even dare to bomb their state , remembering Vietnam .In effect what Russians did was use the socialist ideology to continue to hold on to their former Russian empire, the result of earlier imperial conquests.
I support what @vostok said about socialism, Cental Asian people still feel nostalgic about it, no one likes this capitalism today in former soviet states I have been to, except for the rich, because everyone is piss poor and struggling to get by, whereas that was not the case during Soviet times. Perhaps they should have adopted market reforms like Deng Xiao Ping in China, that way they could still keep the union together.
I agree with @flamer84 Kazakhs have similar feeling about Russians, because they bore the brunt of Russian repression, forced collectivization etc. Oddly enough I believe they do not have as much bad memory of Russian imperial times, so the repression seems like a factor after the Bolshevik takeover.
I think this Ukraine incident will pretty much seal the fate of Russia-West relations, the result Russia will not become a part of EU and NATO in the foreseeable future and may become a permanent ally of China and other Asian nations led by China.
I think this was a strategic mistake by NATO, because Russia was a much bigger prize. May be they concluded that they are not going to get Russia anyways, so they might as well get what they can (Ukraine).
@vostok, your kind opinion about above please.
no its not, belarus and russia have low life expectancy which is improving drastically so the last pillar that spoke in this statistics for you is falling1.On the HDI the difference is minimum.

Belarus has no debt whats so ever
President Vladimir Putin has announced that Russia will lend $2 billion to Belarus to help prop up its economy.
Lukashenko, who also spoke after the meeting of the Russia-Belarus State Council in the Kremlin on Wednesday, pledged that Belarus would behave responsibly with the loan. He said the country would not "eat it away for no special reason."
Debt reaching an all time high of 39124.30 USD Million in the fourth quarter of 2013
HUH ? Russia's economy stinks.
They even had to promise to Putina it won't get lost in the corruption.

Belarus External Debt | Actual Value | Historical Data | Forecast
Belarussia owes 40 billion. $......
A shining example of a functioning state and economy according to senheiser's standards.
and germany owes 5 trillion dollars, uk 7 trillion dollars in foreign debt. And luxmenbourg 500% of its gdp foreign debt.
Most of foreign debt is inter banking debt and private economy debt
At least russian economy is not in massive debt like US economy .
Funny than tell me how is that Germany is full of Romanian prostitutes and other eastern european girls but almost none Russian or Belorussian? And even you cant deny it.
