Karachi: Rangers, police arrest 93 accused during operation
KARACHI: As the security forces are continuing operation in different areas of Karachi, 93 more accused belonging to political parties and gang war were arrested, Geo News reported Tuesday.
According to the Sindh Rangers’ spokesman, 35 accused involved in extortion, target killings and other heinous crimes were apprehended by Rangers during raids in various areas in the past 24 hours.
The areas where targeted operation was conducted included Jamshed Road, Pathan Colony, Lyari, Landhi, Shah Faisal Town, North Nazimabad, Gadap, Old Sabzi Mandi and Surjani Town
The spokesman told that the held men belong to different political parties and gang war. Arms and ammunition were also seized from their possession.
On the other hand, South Zone police forces also conducted raids and arrested 21 accused including six absconders during the last 24 hours. Eight pistols and drugs were recovered from their possession.
West Zone police apprehended 58 accused including 19 absconders and seized 11 pistols and drugs while East Zone police held 45 culprits including two extortionists and 22 absconders along with recovering drugs and ammunition.
It may also be mentioned that at least twenty one suspects involved in killings in Karachi were arrested from Nawabshah today.
On a tip-off, police raided the Santa Singh Mohalla and Parail Shah areas of Nawabshah and arrested the suspects. A huge cache of arms along with foreign currency were recovered from their possession.
Police claim the suspects came from Nagori Mohalla of Karachi.
