Hahaha ... agreed, but why cant the other people if Pakistan appreciate the tax paying culture of Karachi.

Anyone in finance and tax profession knows the tax compliance in Karachi is mich higher than faislabad and lahore. The culture of tax frauds is very high.

Same in comparision to karachi islamabad is even higher tax compliants.

Lets speak the truth and give the credit where its due.

Of Pakistan’s top 50 taxpayers, 33 are from Karachi

Karachi accounts for two-thirds of the top 50 taxpayers in the country.

The Federal Board of Revenue has compiled a list of the people who paid the highest tax on their incomes during 2017-18. Two-thirds of the FBR’s top 50 taxpayers’ list, 33 to be precise, are from Karachi, including the top three.

In the same year, six people from Lahore, three from Gujranwala and two from Islamabad were also among the top 50 taxpayers.

I mean, will Lahoris allow to handover their electricity system to be handed over to Abraj group? Certainly not.
Will Lahoris allow that pashtoon officers from Bajor come and flock every govt office and out number locals? Certainly not.
Will Lahoris allow that punjab University is inducting students from South Punjab, but no admissions to local students? Certainly not.
Why not? Because they are vigilant and know very well what is their right.
On the other hand, Karachiites are allowing all this shit.

here! and lemme assure you; you majority kids haven't paid as much tax since inception of Pakistan as much as we sons of soil have remitted back to Pakistan in few years. I answered your question on why Karachi collects more tax, if you don't have enough brain cells to comprehend the answer then seek education.

Karachi collected tax to spend on its people and the rest of Pakistan. That's it.

Lame argument. Lahore is center of population hub. 50% of pakistans population is closed to lahore and it is at green belt.

Have some shame and atleast give the credit where it is due. This arrogant attitude will increadmse the differences.

Argument is illogical. 50% of population can be close to Lahore but is not in Lahore. Being close to Lahore doesn't mean Lahore district collects the tax revenue for that area.

It's common sense that areas with higher population will collect more tax than areas with less population in most cases. Karachi has the largest amount of population in Pakistan, followed by Lahore. Tax collection follows that trend as well.

Karachi benefits from its geographical location and by all means Karachi should use that to her advantage. The port is able to generate a lot of revenue and indirectly supports several thousand jobs and businesses.

Arrogant attitude? Please do care to explain my arrogance. By explaining reasons for Karachi having higher tax collection, you are calling me arrogant? Nice. Go back and read the original post.

My post is not about Lahore vs Karachi and it will never be about that. Karachi is as much a part of Pakistan as Lahore or any other city. The problem I have is the OP has issues with trying to prove Karachi is superior over every other city in Pakistan. If Karachi prospers, then Pakistan prospers. We need to stop this Karachi vs Lahore and Lahore vs Karachi attitude.

My dear friend, No one can deny the importance of Pakistan's premier industrial and financial centre (i.e., Karachi) and the contribution of Karachiites (including Mohajirs) towards nation's prosperity

But what you need to understand is that insulting and belittling the efforts/contributions of other ethnicities/regions to highlight the contribution of your own community/city is never a good idea

May be when one travels from one garbage dump to the next, keep pleading for a decades with no avail, sensitivities become last thing of your concern.

There is no water, no electricity, you can’t drive 50 feet with encountering a giant pothole on the road, garbage dumps everywhere, sewage spewing from every other hole. You vote for a local party to champion your cause they become a mafia that terrorizes you more than anyone else. You vote for a national party and they can’t change a thing.

Instead of being appreciated and supported by rest of the country you find them belittling you and planning and cheering moving what remains in the city to other places of the country. What would one do? Be cheerful? Sensitive in selection of words, be it right or wrong?

Sindh government needs to up their game in infrastructure and planning, despite having a better urban tax base their development performance and governance massively lags when compared to Punjab government and Lahore.

Also, if the federal government has its way on the 18th and NFC, Karachi will probably suffer a little more in the short-medium term. It’s a bitter pill that KPK, Punjab have swallowed as they will do what federal orders them.
