Kamorta class corvettes for VPN ?

I checked but I also could not find it. BoQ77 does get around.

Frankly, I think we had being thinking too much about this whole thing. We are getting some insights from our Indian friends, but the reality is that its still all up in the air and its probably not as much as we think. The fact that the press always refers to these ships as OPV's is already very telling. We've been having too much speculation and having our hopes to high I think.

If the ships were to really being a Kamorta or a derivative of it, as per the original rumors last year, that would be ok, but as just OPV's, I'm not too excited. I think we just need to wait more. There are kind of conflicting rumors and we are thinking too much about this.
Exactly. As I have said again and again it depends on VN only what they order. Options have already been given with open system architecture using which any kind of addition can be done either in sensors or weaponry but that all needs tto be done by VN only.

China will be pretty happy if Vietnam spend money on this and that....
Actually the huge imbalance between China and Vietnam will still further increase in the future..
I would say any Vietnam military investment does not make much sense.
China is too big and too close to Vietnam...

ha ha ha...your navy is multiple bigger than ours. what is your concern?
even if we aquire missiles and warships from here and there, the huge imbalance of power will continue to exist.

@hans: let read by yourself on reaction of China govt when the news US ease arm ban to Vietnam released.
Judge by yourself. We respect your opinion as individual, anyway, you are not Hua Chunying

Yes, it is only my personal opinion..
Also it is only my personal opinion that even US ease the arm ban to Vietnam,
it does not mean US really want to sell something to Vietnam,
nor it means Vietnam can afford these expensive US arms
nor it means Vietnam can do anything to narrow the huge gap with China..
Only my personal opinion...

My opinion doesn't matter much mate, VN requirements matter most. My opinion will be nonetheless in favor of 105 meters long heavily armed with sensors and weaponry including anti ship missiles. Even KH35, Excost and Harpoon all three missiles are on offer for 75 meters long NOPV. While 105 meters long OPV is offered with much longer range anti ship missiles in VLS. I have also heard also heard that Indian side has intent to sell Upgraded second last version of frigates to allow more freedom but that is not confirmed by either Indian or VN official sources. So we can't focus on that as one member protested recently. Thank you.

Below is the upgraded KH-35 specs.
Vietnam Molniya 550 tons, length: 56.9m : bring 16x of this missile type.
Specifications:
Speed: 1100km/h
Farthest shooting range: 300km
Nearest shooting range: 5km
Ceiling above sea level: 5-10m
Ceiling above sea level approaching the target (final stage): 3-5m
Body length: 3.75m
Diameter: 0.4 m
Wingspan: 0.9 m
Warhead weight: 145 - 300kg
Load capacity at launching: 630kg

I know you wish we don´t have any army at all. what is your dream at Christmas?

.
Well I am just guessing. But Varunastrra range is just 7 km in wikipedia and dont have heard about 100km range
Wrong information.Varunastra range is between 40 to 60 km and if all goes well it will enter serial production in December this year or early first half of 2015.

I mean whether Vietnam has army or not does no matter too much for China...

And Christmas dream I wish is to received more bonus to make holidays in SEA, probably Vietnam...

Also for Vietnam, I wish I can visit it in 2015 or 2016, only if I can have long holiday...
