Kamorta class corvettes for VPN ?

.
Definitely, but overall cost of Kamotra always remain high including maintenance and Refit. Canister based system is always easier and cheap to maintain than VLS based system.

The Sigmas that VN will be getting will also have VLS modules, with even more expensive missiles than the Israeli. So I don't think the Viet navy will mind having VLS SAMs on these Indian hybrids.

Maybe those are not for us
4 Japanese firms to vie for DOTC project | Business, News, The Philippine Star | philstar.com

i just wish i'm wrong

Then those Hateruma are not for the Philippines. Most likely they are getting built for Japan's own CG as they will retire out plenty of old medium class patrol ships.

Rising Sun said this hybrid will have very good anti-air capabilities and @Mike_Brando said it will have AESA radar likely of Israeli origin so I think it's very likely that this hybrid will have MF-STAR with Barak-8. Thats if this will be chosen by the Viet MOD.
MF-STAR is costly, and increase the overall cost of ship. Instead of that VN should choose ELM-2238 STAR. Definitely, it reduce the capability of Barak-8, but still it good. Even MF-STAR is not deployed on Shivalik or Talwar class.

MF-STAR cost around $70 million each back in 2007 when IN purchased 3. I don't think they are expensive given their capabilities. The Thales SMART-S mk2, which VN is getting for the Sigma, probably will cost similar.

VN should buy at least 2 set of MF-STAR for these hybrids. The rest can be the cheaper ELM-2238 or even the ELM-2258.

You hit the nail when you said: "VN is the only one in SCS having independent policy.".

Japan on the other hand has USA, very different situation.

@Viet Makes sense?

Vietnam is the only nation capable of meeting any reassitance to Chinese there is PH but thier Armrd forces is to put it mildly Shitty

Totally true, that's what I said earlier in another thread.

Economic cooperation is also a area where we both can help each other
While Vietnam has good Experience in Electronics & Textiles we have have good Experience in heavy industries like Nuclear,Space Steel to name a few

Absolutely, the ball just got rolling. Can expect a lot of activity in a lot of fronts.

Surely economic power is also very important to deter any unwanted aggression from a hostile nation
Also I wanted to know how are the Japanese helping you on Economic & Infra front

no doubt, we very much value JP helps and assistances, especially during the hardship periods after the wars. JP government provides ODA and grants, while their companies had been long the #1 investor in VN, but recently surpassed by S. Korea. without JP money, we would have suffered a bit longer (and of course, the Chinese would have more one reason to laugh).

economics wise, I believe to the Koreans than Japanese as korean companies are not only hungry and thirsty for success but believe to a new emerging economic small tiger VN. the recent series of investments of Samsung, LG and many others are a proof. from the $17.3b new registered capital, the koreans contributed $6.8b, making them the #1 investor so far in the 11 months this year.

I read the Sigma for VPN is incredibly expensive. any ship carries weapons onboard worth more than $60m. some news say VN is negotiating with the French for locally producing the exocet missiles. we can definitely drive down the cost if local products.

We do they want to domestically produce 2 different types of subsonic missiles?

yes, there are plenty of chances, for instance tourism. indian tourists can compensate some of the decline of chinese tourists to vietnam. Nice: direct air routes are agreed and first flights are conducted.
