Kamorta class corvettes for VPN ?

yes, it will be a major break through for our navy if India provides us what we need. money should not be a problem here. India leadership should realize what stake is on the table.

Actually PLAN modernizing plan is enormous. They are churning out advanced nuke subs like toys.We need help of some friends .VN is the only one in SCS havinf independent policy.
We cant compete with PRC alone. But we will do whatever we can within our capabilities.

.
I believe taking care of US feeling and interest are just a part of Japan consideration if it comes to VN. after all, Japan is a soverein nation.

I don't think the lack of substantial help from Japan has anything to do with USA. Its something else, but I'm not clear what.

Nobody can compete with china on industrial might, but India will start to put out good quantities in the coming years, the ball started to roll.

Japan has a formidable navy.Perhaps stronger than us.But their weapons have US supplied systems and also strings.
They cant export that without US approval otherwise they should develop their own system.

Dont know, but Sukanya design is of 80s, its not brand new, and even accommodating anti-ship missile would not be possible. Rather than Saryu OPV is much more promising with 8 Kh-35.
whatever, but the most important aspect is we need ships equipped with either brahmos or yakhonts to defeat air defence of chinese destroyers and frigates. we have enough vessels with Kh-35s. those missiles are too weak.

Dont know about the future, or even Kamotra class frigate will materialize or not. But one thing, there is no navy in SCS other then PLAN, that uses VLS based anti-ship missiles and SAMs. It create a history in new relation between India and Vietnam.

Even China never provided that kind of naval assets to Pak, the F-22P going nothing against these, this definitely can change balance of power in SCS, and even Indo-China relations.

You hit the nail when you said: "VN is the only one in SCS having independent policy.".

Japan on the other hand has USA, very different situation.

@Viet Makes sense?

Very true, this is a game changer for India, India is putting out ships, not just words, and its taking a risk of escalation with china because of it.

...and since ancient times, our army has experiences in taking on superior military powers. asymmetric warfare is the answer. surprise attack is a side of a coin.

The China already played its card, and risk of escalation, when it provided Pak with nukes, missile, tanks, fighter etc. Now its time for India to play its gamble.

Vietnam has their own policies and decisions .Noone can influence them .That is why defeated US and China in their soil.So whatever weapons we are going to supply them it would be secure in their hands and I hope tech of these would also secure in their hand.
But Chinese dont have that much confidence when it comes to our western neighbour.

Definitely, thats why I was focusing on hybrid version of Kamotra frigate.

That's for sure, the Pakistanis will double cross anybody, just ask the Americans.
