JY-27A radar spotted in Pakistan

JY-27A is a 3-D long-range air surveillance & guidance radar that is resistant to jamming and is highly reliable and mobile. It is a VHF Radar that uses an active phased array antenn. JY-27A is able to detect stealth aircraft like F-22 in a distance of up to 500 km
No radar system can detect F-22 at a distance of up to 500 KM. Claims such as these are completely unsubstantiated. Detecting an F-22 even around 50 KM mark is suspect in reality.

Similar variant was installed in Syria as well but Israeli F-35 made short work of it in one of the raids in nighttime conditions. FYI: https://defence-blog.com/news/sourc...se-made-radar-during-airstrikes-in-syria.html

The radar system was eventually repaired but it did not make much difference.

Nevetheless, no harm in testing and fielding new types of radar systems, if accessible. WE need to improve our defenses in whatever ways possible but no need for overhype.

When as the only country that had stealth fighters, USA manufactured the myth of F-22, and F-22 was claimed to be invincible.

But when other countries also have stealth fighters and know what they really are, the myth is punctured. And USA also develops its anti-stealth radars. Isn't it funny?

What do you think?
As you are tagging, mean it’s an OC.
Nice job man. Really sharp skills and use of perspective(?). Other day, i commented on DAS19 thread about PAC catalogue giving windows 98 vibes. People like you should be appointed for such things. The poster you made itself is a magazine whole page level poster, or a front page news poster.
Very nice job, keep it up

Whether it can detect stealth planes or not or at whatever range, its still a very good addition to the defense of the country, and a reminder to those who think that the armed forces are sleeping.

Not absurd, the French have already done it with B-2s and it is even more stealthy.

Different technology but gives you an idea that it doable.

The French developed an OTH radar called NOSTRADAMUS during the 1990s[17] (NOSTRADAMUS stands for New Transhorizon Decametric System Applying Studio Methods (French: nouveau système transhorizon décamétrique appliquant les méthodes utilisées en studio).) In March 1999, the OTH radar NOSTRADAMUS was said to have detected two Northrop B2 Spirit flying to Kosovo. It entered service for the French army in 2005, and is still in development. It is based on a star-shaped antenna field, used for emission and reception (monostatic), and can detect aircraft at a range of more than 2,000 kilometers, in a 360-degree arc. The frequency range used is from 6 to 30 MHz.

OTH has its weakness; ionosphere propagation across D,E,F layer - please read about it. A lot of OTH written up does not equate to reality. How layers behave with day time and night time. For example, 89 is when solar cycle was on its way up - propagation will be good. Right now for example, you are lucky to get anything done above 14Mhz.
I am also a ham radio operator - so knowing hf propagation and bands daily is a necessity.
