JF-17B Updates, News & Discussion

In comparison to the single-seat JF-17, the JF-17B variant features a dorsal fin that contains an additional fuel tank.

The aircraft prototype also has a slightly larger wingspan and a marginally modified nose section to accommodate an active electronically-scanned array (AESA) radar. It also sports a larger swept-back vertical stabilizer housing a new three-axis fly-by-wire system.

Proposed 3rd pylon attachment point like JL-10 for sd-10

Leaving other pylon for drop tanks and air to ground weapons

The blk 3 will have two extra under the fuselage. Total 9.

Which locations exactly under the fuselage? I don't see any room except for maybe one spot for LDP or something under the right intake. Left one will interfere with canon operations so not gonna happen. So where do you see these two going?

Both chins, much like the f-16.

PAF does not want to carry any extra weapons, at most what they need is one hard point for the targeting pod that can take the space opposite to the gun balancing the 200kg gun with about the same weight of pod provided that is a good location for the targeting pod.
