That makes no sense. There needs to be a standard and Blk 3 is it going forward. May be others can suggest input.

For Paf to have around 15 BLK B's now---means the design would have been frozen over a 1 1/2 to 2 years ago for the production run to begin---and as the BLK 2 equipment was fully integrated---that was the supposedly the best way to proceed.
 
Over the next five years, let's first get the 50 ordered Block-3s. After that PAC can concentrate on upgrading all Block-1s and Block-2s to the Block-3 standard where possible.
Won't happen and more importantly cannot happen due to structural changes required. This was always indicated right from the word go in articles dated back to 2010-15 by PAF high ups in international magazines. At best you might have a change of an air cooled AESA later on in the decade but it wont change block 2s into 3s.

No they wont. JF17Bs are ALL Block IIs...

If PAF end up picking the portable AESA presented by China , than it will be plug and play , with a additional pods you will be seeing a pretty much Standard Dual Seat Block 3 . But Again don't take my word , a senior member can answer it better :)

Actually, it is a matter of splitting hairs. In my opinion B is actually Blk 3 already by virtue of 3 axis fly by wire; that alone differentiates 1,2 from B+3. True HUD may not be there but the core base for the aircraft is the same. The rest can be plug and played later.

Formal induction /conversion of number xx sqn ??
Most probably OCU but given the way the numbers of bravo, they will be distributed among squadrons, quite confusing atm.
 
Jf cost far less to paf than any other western LIFT type and almost same for L-15

Jf-17B with Leonardo M346 will provide the excellent training platforms for 5th gen aircrafts

it will cost probably more than L-15 and will not have same upgraded options. L-15B supposed to be a multi function attacker fighter and trainer with 360° MAWS, engine with afterburner, PESA radar, ARINC 429 Bus and 11 hardpoints and can be armed with PL-12 missiles.
